My friend's 01 trans lasted a little while. He bought back in 07 for $2500 with around 212,000 miles on it and drove it for a little less than a year. He sold it for 2k to this girl we know, she drove it for a little less than a year as well until the trans went out and he bought it back for $300, put a trans in for $900, and sold it again for $1500, at which point that person destroyed the whole front suspension ramping it off of a railroad crossing. I think the trans might have been killed a bit prematurely because we drove down a gravel gas road one day, and it kicked a piece of gravel into the transmission pan, and we drove it low on fluid until we noticed it slipping and pulled over and shut it off. Might have taken a year or so out of its lifespan. That sucked though. Had to walk 7 miles down a mountain in temps in the 20's. Lesson learned: don't drive a taurus down a gravel road in the middle of nowhere. Trans pans are literally paper thin and have no protection.

All in all, I wasn't much of a fan of that car. It was incredibly cramped for something its size. Knees well into the dash even with the seats all the way back. Not very well equipped either (It was just an SE so the SES might be slightly better). And slow as well. I was driving it, racing my friend in a 10 year older Buick LeSabre that he had just bought and was transporting home. I was at the governor doing 111. He's in front of me in the buick, puts his foot down, and just leaves me. That car was pitiful.

A daily driver until the Evo is finished. My neighbors just bought a new GTi and asked if I could use this for parts, as it wasn't running. All it needed was a jump start. Still haven't spent a penny on it.

Thing would really be sweet without the stupid automatic and the crappy bodykit. That just clashes so bad. Like some gangster granny or something. Without them, it would be an awesome car. Like what our Taurus should have been.

Is his an SRT-8 or just a 5.7? The grill is throwing me off a bit. Wheels look to be the chrome 18's so I'm guessing 5.7.

X3?

The rear looks identical to the X5. Have never seen an X3 like that.

And yeah, get rid of the kit and tacky lights asap. I do love the AU's shape though.

Prices are crazy cheap (for Australian standards anyway) for ford sedans. Been thinking about getting a new xr6.

edit - Far be it for me to tell you what your own car is. But you sure that's an X3?

It could be an X5, I never actually looked properly but it doesn't have an LCD screen inside which I thought all X5's had.

And forgot to mention that's not my house it's my friends house, his car is the FTO and the BMW is his dads, and his mum has an Audi A4 lol
