www.xulplanet.com is the place to go for info on XUL.
Javascript is all over the internet.

Information about packaging a firefox extensions can be found Here, although that page describes the new format for the upcoming FireFox1.1, it also contains info on the old 1.0 method.

Click this clicky
Click the thing that says "Install now"
When it's done you'll have to close firefox, and open it again for it to actually install.
Then when you're posting just right click in the text box and select GTAForums code.

Hi guys,

I updated the first post of the topic for the release of version 0.2.0

You can install it at mozilla update site or if you have the previous version already installed, from your extension window ( tools->extensions) in firefox.

Changes from the 0.1.1 version:
• Improved handling of cursor position; when tags are inserted without a selection, the cursor will be placed inside the tags, for easy text-insertion.
• Improved handling of Selection; when a tag is applied to a selection, the selection is preserved, and the new tags are included in the selection. This make applying multiple tags to a slection very easy.
• Added some missing tags.
• added attribution pop-up for [quote].
• tables and lists can now be made from a selection or with popups (if notyhing was selected).
• added support for numbered lists.
• added support for header-fields in tables.
• reshuffled the menu to keep them compact.


Not that we need it anymore, but just because it makes me proud:
The author of BBcode was very impressed with the cursor/selection handling, and that will also be included in the next BBcode version (0.4.0, to be released shortly).

Very nice one Patrick, I'm impressed. As little as I use the buttons (never ) and now this extension, it is still very handy. I just need to get used to doing it the lazy way and using your extension now, after three years of manually coding everything heh.
