Turn off the Frame Limiter. If necessary, lower AA and draw distance.
Make sure your video drivers are up-to-date and delete the gta_sa.set file from the User Files folder.
Also, if you have any mods installed, they may be holding back your performance too.

Will this be okay for it to run at High/Medium for most settings with little or no lag and a steady frame rate?

Dell Inspiron 17 Laptop Windows Vista Home Premium 64-Bit Service Pack 1

CPU-Intel Core 2 Duo CPU P7350 @ 2.00GHz

RAM- 4GB

Graphics Card Mobile Intel 4 Series Express Chipset Family

1.6 GB video RAM

System Requirements Lab passed it for minimum and far above recommended, except the graphics card which failed the recommended requirements.

The Intel video card might cause some graphical issues but nothing that a driver update cannot fix. So, make sure that all your video drivers are up-to-date. Other then that, you should be able to play the game satisfactorily on medium settings.

I too have received the second edition San Andreas PC version today..... and I am disappointed that I can only run it on minimal settings to get a slightly better framerate which is probably about 15-20 and I can't even turn on the anti aliasing as an option mad.gif

I suppose there is nothing I can do really, and even if the video card were to not be integrated, I would still have trouble with a compatible graphics card such as nVidia?

Nope. A dedicated video card (whether Nvidia or ATI) will allow you to run the game on all high settings with AA on.

I meant that there is nothing I can currently do NOW.

My video card is irreplaceable in this laptop.

My graphics card is my only problem.

Well, use a desktop then. If your laptop is really that weak that it cannot even handle SA then there's nothing you can do about it.

What a shame that I had to do a video card downgrade. I thought that the Geforce 6600GT 128mb was better than my previous Radeon 9800 PRO 256mb.

Draw: FULL
AA: 3
FX: Low
Res: 800x600x32

FPS stays 25 all the time. But if I switch to 1024x768x32, the framerate slows to 20 in certain areas. Like when a firetruck comes and puts out the fire, all the water effects slow the game down noticeably, also when I enter the building full of smoke in Burning Desire.

Turning on AA isn't recommended at all for such a weak graphic card. And your fps stays locked at 25 because you've turned on the Frame Limiter, most probably. Try turning it off.

Weird, but if I turn AA completely off, it's the same thing. And it doesn't matter if I have my frame limiter on or off, it still drops to 20.

If you have mods installed, then they could be causing the frame rate drop. Try a clean installation.
Make sure you close all running applications before starting the game.
Also, defragging your hard drive would be a good idea.
And make sure you have updated your video drivers and deleted the gta_sa.set file from the User Files folder.

You might be able to run it on low settings, but do not try the ENB series mod or your game will lag severely. Make sure you turn on the Frame Limiter and turn off AA.

Is it the Total graphics memory (I've got 780 mb) or the Dedicated graphics memory (32 mb) that matters?
Also, would it run on Win 7 32 bit? confused.gif
