| QUOTE (DigitalD @ Apr 19 2005, 08:09) | Cran, that thing must weigh a tonne. And you have a desktop CPU in a laptop? That's suicide for your testicles bro.
http://www.p4laptops.com.au/m7300-spec-full.htm
The mobility X800 is a very nice touch, I was looking for one but couldn't find one except in the ABS G3 Mayhem that guy pointed out, but that thing weighs 3* as much as my laptop weighs and is twice as thick. I don't need a brick, I need a laptop.
Yours is also 17".. too big for my taste. And it cost 3000$... wasn't willing to pay that much. So it's better, but it's too big for my tastes, needless to say you got top of the range technology all over it though. | XPS Gen2 is lighter and gets better battery life with teh 6800 Go Ultra, but the screen sucks, and I can't get one here in Australia. Besides the screen isn't true 17", it's a 17" widescreen, so it's smaller than a 17' LCD screen.
| QUOTE (Bond996) | My laptop lags in Vice City.... But I can get like 100fps in total max in Half Life.....One.
But hey, how many of you get 7-8 hours of battery life on one charge? |
Not me, but I only get a 1-2 hours from this battery, it's a DTR (Desktop Replacement) the only reason I have it so it's easier to move, and my dad could only saralry sacrifice a laptop (So what if he saralry sacrificed a desktop last year . You know i'll get about a gagillion fps in half life Besides, it's a better package than a desktop, so what if it cost more. It comes with four speakers and a sub, 17" WSXGA+ glossy widescreen (Which i'm going to get on a desktop ). Come on, I can even upgrade the CPU, and the graphics card! So this beast will rock on for a while.

| QUOTE (Xcommunicated @ Apr 19 2005, 19:16) | I really wish notebook graphics could be upgraded.
My tablet/notebook specs are
Pentium M 1.5GHz 400FSB 512MB RAM 60GB 5400RPM hdd Geforce 5200 Go
The 5200 isn't too bad, but it sucks that I'm stuck with it.
At least I have a PM instead of a P4 though. Pentium Ms destroy Pentium 4s in terms of performance vs. power requirements. | My 3.4 would still be better than that 5200 is a tad crap

| QUOTE (DigitalD @ Apr 20 2005, 14:33) | | Well Cran's is by no means a real notebook.. its a mini desktop if anything. With those specs you would be hard pressed to get any battery life or portability out of it. | As a said, I only get about 1-2 hours, and it's not that heavy! Still a notebook

You'd be suprised at how the new PM's would perform against your chip. The 2MB L2 Cache versions, especsially the 2.1ghz model, likely slaughter your laptop, while saving your genitals from being fried.
Plus it gets more battery life. | 2.13GHz PM is about the same a 3.8GHz 5 series P4. Plus I dont care about battery life, heh.
