Thats the Beta 1 version - you need the files from the start of 'Current status of the mod' - but be careful as some of the downloads are currently corrupt.

yeah i noticed that if you enter a copcar you would get the gta3 shotgun, hopefully hammer will find a way to change it tounge.gif and thanks for the tip related to unlocking all missions.

On the latest beta, besides of the fact that the spanish file was deleted, there is one bug in the subtitles: On the intro, after reading the newspaper post, the white line where the text is displayed reamins there until the next subtitle line (Liberty city is in shock today,). I think it dissapeared with the front page of the Liberty Tree.

Lance, the shotgun in the cop car will be changed. We even think we know how, but we just haven't gotten around to it yet.

VGF: I think I removed the Spanish file because it was corrupted. I noticed you just released a new version, so it'll be included in future versions. Remember to use CyQ's GXT editor. And I'll take a look at that subtitle line.

scalliano: Make sure you're looking at the main.scm.txt (and not the main.scm). That exact line should appear in line 1787 of the code. And I have no idea what's causing the Portland wanted level problem. But knowing it only occurs in Portland should help us find it a little easier. And it is possible to remove the loading screens in Vice City. I do not know exactly how to that right now. There's a couple of files in the data folder that need changing (gta_vc.dat, map.zon, navig.zon) and I think all of the map files (IDE) need changing as well.

You opened the main.scm instead of the main.scm.txt (and that overwrote your main.scm.txt file). Go into the rar archive and copy the main.scm.txt file. Then open that file in MB. Then you will see all of our custom variable and label names.

I managed to get all the way to 6 stars on Staunton but there was no sign of the army. Is the army disabled at the minute? (this is my last ever question on the subject of wanted levels wink.gif )

hi is there ne solution or quick fix for the mission lockup bug? i just got liberty city and am dying to play it but the game just locks up on the burning car...i can do cheats like spawn vehicles, and eventually blow up 8-ball, but nothing else
sad.gif
any help would be appreciated, mayb just remove the first or all of the missions?

nickyc_the_one: Are you using the v4 download? We fixed the exploding vehicles crash in that version.

scalliano: The army.txd is corrupted, so the army peds never show up. We should get that fixed soon.

Hey i just want to say good job on the v4 - not long finished installing it. Just noticed a couple of things (sorry if they've already been mentioned):
- when you complete "luigi's girls" or whatever it's called (the mission where you pick misty up from the hospital and take her back to luigi's club, she walks the wrong way during the "mission passed" segment.
- a couple of the weapon icons still need fixing - when you enter the "nuttertools" and "professionaltools" cheats, some vice city weapons still appear (nutter = minigun; pro = sniper rifle with laser pointer). i think the "thugstools" weapons are ok
- the video at the start was incomplete - after you get shot, and it switches to what should be the cop van driving, the cop van isn't there!
- 8Ball in the cop van is still lance in cop uniform; the columbians take ken rosenberg from the van; some of the pedestrians are still from vice city; the guy that gives you the letter from luigi in "don't smack ma bitch up" is from the lovefist's band
- when you first go into the pay'n'spray, it says each spray costs $100 - i thought in gta3 that it was $1000 (correct me if i'm wrong on that amount)
- i was stuffing around after using a weapons cheat and just killing random pedestrians and blowing up random cars, but it took ages for me to get even one star. when the cops finally did show up though, the stars went up fairly quickly.
- i haven't seen any motorbikes yet - maybe i just haven't come across one, or don't they appear until you get to staunton island like the good cars?

That depends on which side of the car she gets out of. If you're facing the other way, she walks normally. The reason she turns is when the car is in the way of where she's walking, she turns. That turn is reflected in the following scene. I haven't found a way (yet) to overcome that.

Those are just placeholders for the final peds. They will (eventually) be converted.

This is another thing that's in the exe. We can modify it, but we can only do it to 3 digits. So the closest we could get would be $999. So we decided to stick with the Vice City price.

We're looking at the wanted level issues. It appears there is a difference between the way VC and GTA3 handle wanted levels. I don't know if we can fix it.

Sorry about the length - hope you can help me out.

Bikes will spawn (in traffic) in areas where you'd expect them. They show up in similar areas to sports cars. In other words, you see them in Staunton and Shoreside Vale. There are a couple of PCJs parked in Portland though.

You could do it, just like you did one of your first cutscenes (The one of that yardies mission, where after the phone sequence, one car showed up and stopped in front of Fido)

That's not a cutscene. It's similar, but different enough that it wouldn't work. I don't know if we can make it work easily. And since it's just a visual difference (meaning gameplay is not affected at all) I'm not too worried about it.

1. I had a strange bug after completing mission "Cipriani's Chauffeur". I wasn't able to save game! Every time I go to "save house" I received message "Any more Securicars you want cracked? Bring them to our garage in the Portland Harbor".
Hopefuly it fix itself. I don't now how?
2. In mission "Cutting the grass" game crashes when curly Bob appears
3. After you are able to get missions from Salvatore, the "T" icon from Tony missions are replaced by "S" like Salvatore. You can see two "S" icons on the radar.
4. In mission from Tony when you must park and horn (then you get to the bank)
the game doesn't "know" that you parked. I mean that you must riding in the park place until you get message to horn for these guys in black. It's annoying. This bug also appears in missions from Salvatore when you must park in his garage.

Yeah i noticed those few bugs too. In "the getaway", and salvatore's missions ("chaperone", etc.), whilst the marker doesn't appear on screen, it's on the radar, so i guess this is just an incomplete part of the missions.

Also, just a quick question - i noticed some of the stats that only apply to vice city are still present (eg - property budget, etc.) - are these going to be removed?

Just one other question, how can you get past "cutting the grass" - i've tried heaps of different ways, but it crashes everytime. Are there any other missions with significant bugs that i can expect?

Ok I'll try to explain how, as I had the same problem.
A friend of mine and I found a way to do the mission and it may take some tries to do it but it works!

First, when you arrive to Luigi's where Curly Bob takes the Taxi, get in the taxi, sometimes the driver wont go out of the taxi so go you'll have get inside the other side of the taxi.
When you're in, you must be at the same place as the exit of Luigi's, so when Bob arrive he doesnt have to walk much more but just get inside.

When you arrive in Portland Harbor, as soon as you go in the blue marker , when Bob get out of the taxi, get out of it you too or else after the dialogue, you'll have a white screen and then, you'll be at the hospital like you would have be killed.
The reason why it does that is because the taxi dispear.


Also the bug only happens when you do the missions in order and not when you can do any missions like you want to do them.


I'm not really good with explanations so I hope you understood!

Get a Taxi (Taxi, Cabbie, Borgnine whatever. Works the kaufman cab?tounge2.gif)
Stand behind the normal taxi and Curly gets in your taxi.

Bugs:
'The Getaway' (Joey): When you got 3 police starts you must normally to Pay 'n Spray but now you can back to the hideout immediately.

'The Thieves' (Marty Chonks): When you go to Pay 'n Spray you see a 'spray can' but when you get out of the car and then get back in you see not a 'spray can' but an 'R' (from Ray).
