Sorry Guys, problem solved. it was an result of me not installing VC audio during initial VC install. (figured i was only using gta3's audio so why bother) fixed by simply copying the audio from vc play cd to audio folder in LC directory.

When you browse to the exe using the launcher, is it supposed to put it in quotes, since if the path to gta-vc.exe is in quotes, it then messes up verify paths. That's one of the problems I had installing my Beta 2.

Browse thing is a fluke and I'll probably remove it. The launcher should be placed in the root folder and the path should only contain the active directory. Otherwise the behaviour might be unexpected.

Lazy way to fix it I guess biggrin.gif

actually I played orginal GTA3 PC and it's exactly the same in the orginal, so I don't think this qualifies as a bug.

That one I can help you with. Open up your main.scm.txt file (in the DATA folder) with Barton's Mission Builder (version 1.5). Then search for ":LabelLC06D71B"

That should take you to this section of code:

That's how it should look. My guess is in your version the 02E5 opcode has the #NULL before the $CUTSCENE_PLAYER. Those parameters must be in the order they are above. The same must be done for the Ray opcodes. Or if you don't want to do that, you can download the latest scm (where that issue is fixed) from here.

upon attempting to load the game with all of my improved shoreside col's (if I use just one less new col this error doesn't happen) I get this error msg in Debug View (makes it 75 percent of the way then crashes)

so from what I'm reading it crashes right after failing to find model info for airpshadows01.

I'm going to reinstall beta 2's col's then import all my shoreside vale col's and see if it reproduces.

charlesbesso, you may have reached col limit...

Smellton, check that there is a file r2_ap.ifp in cuts/anim.img If not, download the latest code update, it should be there.

Erm, guys...
I've got prob here with the Beta2 confused.gif
The prob is that I install it on a totally UNmodified Vice, copy audio from GTA3 into audioLC, execute the launcher, specify the path to gta-vc.exe and... It wants me to insert the CD!!! Ok, it could've not been a problem, but... Even when I insert my play-CD, the game STILL wants the CD. Later I've tried to replace gta-vc.exe with a No-CD .exe. It STILL wants the CD!!! I figure the problem is not in my No-CD, but in gta-lc.exe (launcher) confused.gif
Any suggestions on how to fix this??? confused.gif

P.S. Sorry if I've posted in the wrong topic.

Do you know which version of the vc.exe file you have - some of the foreign ones have different offsets and this problem has been encountered before.

Space, do you know what that weapon is supposed to be? I probably forgot to request the model. And I'll take a good look at that gate issue as I remember getting that myself (and completely forgot about it).

I'll also look at Cutting the Grass (after I finish boning the fireman!)

Not that anyone here could tell you.
Giving out a copy of the original exe (modified or not) is considered illegal and is against forum rules.

If you bought the game, then you have it on the cd.

If it asks you for CD it means that some audio files are missing. Go to advanced and click on Verify paths. It'll tell you which ones you are missing. Also, don't modify the default path (".\gta-vc.exe"), just place the launcher and all the related ASI files in the root of Vice City installation.

Thanks for some suggestion! I'll guess I have to try it.

P.S. The GTA:Long Night, which uses the GTA:LC launcher, works fine, so the prob really can be in the audio... Ok, reinstalling VC and trying it all over again rolleyes.gif

EDIT:
Oh my God!!! It was all MY stupid MISTAKE!!! Oh my... Silly me! Simply something f*cked up during the installation of GTA3 and not all of the sounds were copied. Now everything runs fine. Cool mod rah.gif

i have found one minor issue. in the mission "cutting the grass", sometimes the taxivehicle randomly stops for a few seconds, and then it starts driving again. by the way, didn't the taxivehicle have a radar icon(when curly bob is inside the taxi)?

EDIT:

found another issue, in the mission "i scream you scream", when i press the fire button, to blow up the icecream van with the remote control, the game freezes. no unhandled exceptions however.

EDIT2:

the gate at the army base refuses to open from the outside(even with an army vehicle), though once you're inside, the gate will open, so you can exit the area.

EDIT3:

the game randomly freezes, which is caused by explosions, but the weird thing is, the game only freezes with some explosions(with some i mean it doesn't happen with all explosions, it doesn't matter which kind of explosion it is).
no unhandled exceptions.

EDIT4:

it seems that the mission bling bling scramble will only start if you drive with a bike into the blue teleporter/marker

EDIT5:

the mission sayonara salvatore still causes the game to freeze(when the mafia was supposed to arrive to pick up salvatore)

i have the latest scm, but i have to stop testing the latest package, because of the random crashes(i've had to restart my computer quite a few times dontgetit.gif )

While redoing the gxt, I wasn't able to find this subtitle of the 'Last requests' first cutscene:
'We had to help some guy to make up his mind, and it proved to be a little... messy.'

Where is it? I'm sure that it's not on the SAL4 table.

I exibit the same issues as lance in "i scream you scream"

as for lances EDIT2 comment, I believe he is referring to Phil Cassidy's Army Supply, I noticed the Gate won't open from the outside, though I'm not certain if it ever did before you passed "Arm's Shortage" in GTA3, if someone can tell me how to use the GTA3 mission editor to unlock all the missions I'd be happy to go check ingame.

and as for his EDIT3 comment, I exibit the same problem, it only seems to happen when I've just blown up a car, as far as I can tell from debugview (the few times I could popup the windows start bar and terminate gta-vc.exe with task manger) is that the bug is in the process of attempting to damage the parts of the car in question.

glad in a sad way to see it's not just me with this bug/glitch/error.

I'll try and cause the crashes and have debug view auto log them. I'll post whatever information I collect here.
