| QUOTE | Just a thought, can't you make all the fireladders(stairs) on the outside of the buildings solid? So you can jump up on them and make your way to the top. I've thought about it since GTA III, and I thinks it's a good idea that's not so complex. |
It's so funny, I thought exactly the same thing whilst playing GTA III, all those years ago . Unfortunately, I think it's not just complex, it's impossile. GTA SA isn't hard-scripted with any 'climb ladder' behaviour as far as I know. The only thing we could do is put a marker at the foot of the stairs that respawns the character at the top and vice versa, like roof access in VC. Not the same thing at all, as I'm sure you'll agree. Maybe Rockstar will put ladder climbing into GTA IV, but let's not go there. It's taking long enough to convert this mod to GTA SA. GTA III has always straddled genres. Delighting some, including me, and displeasing others. 1. The car handling and damage aren't real enough (not at all) for the fans of racing games. 2. The character behaviours and AI aren't diverse enough for a 1st person shooter, although wasn't it a good idea the include swimming in SA, and let's not forget the targeting system. 3. The characterisation and plot development aren't deep enough for an adventure game, though it's a cut above the average FPS. 4. With SA, the clothes, girlfriends, food, dancing, tattoos, and the whole 'homeboys in da hood' at the start of the game wouldn't be enough to satisfy the fans of RPGs, plus there's no character interaction options (yawn). If Rockstar ever went down one of these roads at the expense of the others it would, in my opinion, spoil the whole. GTA is good at what it is, a truely immersive, compelling, believable world.

Ok... A little motivated again in modeling islands and stuff, I'm gonna try making an island (Mouzer Jungle, I think I'll call it) and make unsolid pitfallls that lead into water. I can't code, but it doesn't need much. I could make weapon spawnpoints for the island... Yeah, that could work. One problem: my trial for 3ds max 8 expired, and now I can't make SA .dffs. The best I could do is... Make a .3ds and .txd file for them. I can't make spawnpoints unless MJ (Mouzer Jungle) is in MI, so I'll do that when MI for SA (Maybe a beta or alpha) is released so I can get the weapon coords. All the help I'd need is... Someone to tell me how to make an object unsolid, someone to convert my objects, and someone to pick a good place for them and put the island in MI: SA. I'm also doing this for the fate of MI (people not being so interested any more because they think no work is being done). Well, I'm not going to request a lot, I'll let you guys pick a spot for it. Maybe I can make it, otherwise, well, model it or not in case I can't do it. If you guys think it isn't a good idea, then dont do it. Just if I can make it, gimme a helping hand in converting and mapping it in there if you choose to use it. Maybe give me answers when I can't figure out what is going on if I have problems. Well, I'll post back here with pics if things go well, otherwise, I'll post my failed results .

I have some questions. Why are the images directly linking to myriadislands.com not fixed? Like the banner or this? And why does adding one more line in illcomNE.ipl crashes the game?
I don't know where should I put this fix so I am just going to post it here. Additions for illcomSW.ipl Find 13009, LODr8_garage

| adding 1 more line always needs to be added to the end of the file, if you place it underneath one line in the midle of the file the whole numbering of the lines will be ruined, so always be sure you check where you add them, second thing is that sometimes tiny bits of numbers will crash the game example 0.00 doesnt work but 0.0 will same thing with coordinates 0,09 doesnt work but making it 0,1 will make it work just be sure you use the right characts like points and comma's cya hope it helps you Aad.

This is odd. I can add all these lines but only a few at a time. Adding all at once will crash the game. Why?
