EDIT. Here's the models with the added LOD. Hope it works.

I don't know why, but each of these models crash the game when I try to use this opcode:
CODE
00A5: $DROPOC_PLANE = create_car #RCGOBLIN at 1603.15 -1932.2 239.459
That exact line worked before with the old LODless model.

Sorry for the late reply, Craig.

Seems the models themselves got corrupted somehow. I'll see if I can get em working again.

Have you tried using the deaddodo as the model for the mission yet?

I tried using the original Deaddodo and it crashed (as it has no dummies). And I tried the one you included with the last upload. But like you said that was corrupt.

Whatever became of this LC site thing? Was it ever implemented, and if so, is it still up?

Yes, here, however it got so much use it was abandoned and forgotten about in days almost. It stayed up as I couldn't be bothered to take it down, though I'm amazed it still worked as I'm sure I removed its database access after my site was hacked, very odd it still does. It was never even really finished.

So...can we get it back up and running? It'd be nice to have a place for all the official and unofficial releases. Although if there's not enough bandwith or whatever for the 100mb+ official mod releases, then there could just be a link, I suppose.

I already host every update (although I haven't got v5/v6 up yet) on my ftp (ftp://ftp.y-less.com) as it bypasses bandwidth usage monitors tounge.gif so that's not a problem. It would be a good to get it going again, but the trouble is people are busy. If you're up for getting it going (do anything, change its looks/content/whatever) I can easilly give you access to do so. You wanna?

Yeah, the website's still there if we ever need it. But so far we haven't. This forum (along with my own site) has served my needs so far.

That's what the forum is for. You can post links to all of the downloads (for the various people out there who host for us wink.gif) as well as details about each one. Also, the forum gives people a chance to discuss the updates, report bugs, or whatever. The website might be more relevant after a final version of LC is released.

i totally agree with you benisablink182fan (thats the first time i typed out your whole nickname).
right now myraid islands website is not a whole lot useful, accept for downloading. but if/when the final version is released, im sure the website would be a great idea. maybe adding info and screenshots of the mod.

Sure! Thanks, Y_less, I'd love to run the LC site.

Also, Thomas brought up the key point of having a mod site- downloads. Forums are great for discussion and all, but when it comes to downloads, they have a notoriety for broken links (just look at Myriad's download center).

With a site, all downloads can be hosted (or directly linked) and GTAF can still be the home for LC discussion.

Liberty City Website

Ok, so it mostly looks the same. But I'm adding lots of downloads, both official and unofficial. So come check it out!

One thing, could you please not add the main installer on the site, I was a bit worried when I went on. I've hosted it before and it battered my bandwidth so I just put it up on FTP now.

Actually, I just linked it to the one at gtaprojects.com. Is that still a problem?

EDIT: What v6 files should I put up? There are some pre-release files that can update v5 to v6, but where are they?

Also, do I need permission to host/link the unofficial LC mods?

And there's this video, called "Liberty City Tribute", maybe you've heard of it. It's really cool and it would give a nice bit of PR boost for the mod if it was directly connected with LC, (which it is indirectly, it mensions LC in the credits).

Seeing as MegaVovaN has a new site up and running, with all of the unofficial mods and v5b available to download (as well as older betas to come), I was thinking that we make his site the official website - mainly because he has direct hosting as opposed to links at the current site. It wouldn't take too much to get the site into a format that would be suitable for an official website, and once the mod is complete, it can be a direct link to a complete GTA: Liberty City collection (as this forum will become pretty much useless). If need be, a forum could be started on that site (once LC is complete) so that people could discuss the mod, request things etc.

Just a suggestion - what does everyone else think?

Check out MegaVovaN's site now - http://www.lc.megavovan.com
and check out the first post of the Unofficial Mods topic for a list of up-to-date links.

I have no objection to MegaVovaN hosting an official website. But I don't think it'll get used too much (unless someone else really takes control of it). I don't know if we want to try and revive the original official site though. It doesn't really matter to me.

But this forum will always be the home for GTA:LC. We would never need to have a forum anywhere else.
