It's a joke... when this article was started so many years ago you have to have a PS2 game.
You're trying to use a PC, right?

The ONLY way to get territory in SF/LV, is with the Chain Game saves OR by using a Save Editor. It IS NOT possible to have territories there otherwise, to my knowledge.?

I think I have 1st edition or whatever. Does anyone know how to make gand territory appear all over the map? I tried flying west for 15 minutes, then crashing into the sea, but that didn't work.

You need to fly off the map for much longer than that. Stuf CJ with enough fatty food so he's about 75% fat, then go to the airport and fly a shamal or whatever's there (shamal works best) away from SA for a couple of hours. Just get to maximum altitude and leave the game, the shamal will stay airborne for hours. Go to sleep, work, whatever. By the time CJ's starved to death and wasted, finished up at the hospital, you should have a nice patchwork quilt of territories all over SA.

The problem is that it's nigh impossible to start a gang war in some territories even if you do manage to find three gang members there.

I posted a thread about not being able to start gang wars in territories recently. There's a lot of interesting information that's been supplied by forum members and mods there.

Yeah. Well, although some people say that the Shamal has "auto-pilot" because its wings are shaped so that as it starts to descend, it will be lifted up again. Only bad thing about attempting to leave your game going while the shamal is flying itself is that if it hits a storm, it will fall, crash and burn (in the water). And also, regardless of which direction you begin flying in, it will turn you around and make you go North East which isn't particularly helpful. It has been found that flying South West is the best to get as many territories as possible because there is a hospital in Angel Pine and this helps with respawning quickly and getting the territories somehow.
Personally, i just take the Hydra and go SW, hold my thumb on "X" (on PS2), tilt the Left Trigger ever so slightly downwards (to make the plane go up) and then switch to another channel and watch TV. Hasn't really failed me as long as a continue to flick back maybe every 5-10 mins to correct the path of the plane etc.

Taking over gang territory is a real pain in the ass. I'm near the end where I have to take over a good number of hoods amid around Los Santos amid all the rioting and boy is it tedious. Start a gang war, and next thing I know police and hookers are shooting at me too. Sheesh!

Do I have to take over all the gang territory before commencing the next mission with Sweet?

You need 35% of the territory.
If you made the mistake of starting the riots you have the extra troubles you mentioned.
If you have a Fireproof CJ (by doing the Firefighting missions) it will be easier when you use the Molotov Cocktails to wipeoput groups.

I would suggest you go back to an earilier save, before you started the riots, if you want to make it easier.

If you are on the PC you may also ask for someone to help doing them for you by uploading the savegame in the MISSION HELP Forum.
(Read the banner there and follow its instructions.)

you need 35% like Weasel said so you need at least anywhere from 20-22 territorys, well thats how many I usually have to take over.

I know people haven't commented in a while, but I have a question: I've taken over everywhere but Los Flores, and I can't find ANY gang members there. And if I do, there's one or two and that's it. Anyone got any ideas? confused.gif

turn CJ's back to them, wait a few (real) minutes, like three. When you turn CJ around there are usually more foes. Another method is to watch the traffic. Look to see who is driving. Block the road and pull the gamg members out and shoot them. This can cause others to appear.
Shooting a Drug dealer may also bring foes running.
BE very careful about gangs trying to retake another area. This will cause spawning of foes, but you won't be able to start the war because of the other threat. Drive a sub-mission vehicle, if a retake starts then wait a few seconds and start the sub-mission and cancell it quickly.
If CJ has the sniper-rifle he can shoot foes in other zones while standing firmly in the zone you want.
