Thats what mine looked like only the lines were smaller until I made the sig smaller. Then they got larger.

Demarest just disabled my signature when it hasn't even changed size. Urgh, the staff really need to get thier act together else the whole forum rejuvination thing will have been in vain.

Here's a couple of options the staff have in altering the policy:-

1. Allow signatures to remain if they display within the boundaries in one or more skins.
2. Only allow signatures to remain if they display correctly in ALL skins.
3. Alter all the skins so that signatures are drawn the same size throughout.

Members should be given good notice if option three is used. I would oppose option two. I would support option one, although it makes life harder for us staff. I beleive option three is the best choice as it completely eliminates the problem of inconsistancy between the skins.

The dimensions used by 2k4Lite would be the ones I would suggest.

Ah, excellent news. I wonder why Demarest wasn't paying attention to that thread?

Anyway, the opening post also includes references to warning stars which aren't used any more. Those references should be removed else people will think breaking the rules will get them the good stars!

As far as I know, the original size limits in the hack (that was made before the limits were decided upon) are 500x175. This means the measuring bars were all set to be 175 tall. So far only the default GTANet 2k4 skin has been updated to use the correct height limit of 150, and that seems to be what's causing the confusion.

Ok, there's a bit of confusion over what's correct and what isn't. Hopefully I'll clear it up now, although I'll probably get it wrong myself.

The sig size checker works correctly on the default GTAnet2k4 1.3 skin when viewed on the profile screen.

The accuracy of it under the other skins and when viewing the sig edit screen cannot be guaranteed (yet! Obviously these will be fixed when an admin finds the time). To be doubly sure that your sig is correct, open your profile screen in a separate window, and refresh it after you've made your sig changes. It's a pretty new system, so hey, you gotta expect a few niggles with it.

The problem is now solved. All skins should show green/red appropriately. Keep in mind the coloration is meant for a quick reference. You are still responsible for making sure your own sig is within the generous 500 x 150 boundaries

The 'Edit Signature' page in your control panel shows a green box around your sig. This box will display red lines if your sig is breaking the 500x150 limit. If the box is all green, that means you're ok. If it shows red however, then your sig IS breaking the limit, and no amount of crying and complaining will change that fact. Remember, If you see red, it's too big.

The bars around your signature will not turn completely red - the area you are allowed to use will stay green at all times but if you go over the limit, the space that you are not allowed will be shown in red. You have red on the bars surrounding your signature, so it is over the limit.

So are we supposed to ignore the borders or trust them completely? If we cannot trust them completely then there's no point having the system at all.

You're "supposed to" make sure your signature fits inside the limits. As Demarest said, all the known problems with the measuring bars have been fixed, so you'd be fine with "trusting them completely".
