Mmm 4 hrs now an guess what a problem, looks like im gonna have to d/l the file again yep real nice ehh. The .RAR file I got was 64, 072kb exactly but the others seem to be 62mb.

Im guessing that I have to unzip the archive to do anything, as it wont lemme even get the the readme or anything.

I guess that this mod was based around having a fast connection.
So it looks like my file is f00k*d up nice n good.

It might have been when I changed from d/l from one source to another but this has never been a problem before.

Looks like the bugs, glitches, incompletes and pictures will have to wait.

Im pretty piss*d off atm, unless there is something that can be done but I dont think so, also I aint read this topic.

I followed the steps for the radio station conversion, but I still get the Vice radio stations, as they are on the CD. What have I done wrong?

I Downloaded, but I cant install

I run the setup for the installer, select my gtavc.exe file and then I get these errors :



I Click Ok, and then get this :



I have the visual basic runtimes installed and my VC was freshly installed when I was downloading the Mod.

The second error is because of the first one... i just programmed it to pickup on a windows error.

Make sure all the files are present in the source folder...

Failing that, manually copy the files.

I dont quite understand what you mean by source folder, Is that where the game is installed?

I Run the installler from my desktop and I have also placed one in the folder where the game is installed and still no luck.

How do I get to the files so I can install manually if that is the only way I can get round this ?

The source folder is the folder where the files get installed FROM.

The directories for the installer should be like this (and this is how they are in the RAR... if you used something to extrace the files that doesnt support directories in the archive, it would explain it) anyways:

Installer/
.....Setup.exe
.....Source/
..........data/
..........models/
..........etc etc...

So if the source folder aint there... then the files wont get copies, the files arnt embedded in the exe like some installers.

If you want to manually install it, the copy the files from the source/ folder accross into the games folder, its not as tidy, and leaves un-needed files, but if it works for you, might be worth a try.

I was pretty sure that comdlg32.ocx was a VB runtime file. But if you've installed that, then I don't have any other ideas.

It is. I downloaded comdlg32.ocx and manually installed it. It works now, cheers.

I think you should read the other posts before you ask for help, the first page, someone had EXACTLY the same error... and i uploaded the file, and youll find the link on there...

Microsoft were dumb enough not to include comdlg in their runtimes

what .exe is the LC installer supposed to be? mine opens with Internet Explorer for some gay reason?

The setup.exe file is the installer, inside of the 'Installer' directory...

No idea why it should open with internet explorer (Microsoft really really does suck)

hey guys, I just wanted to see what display settings you use for Liberty City that make it look good and run smooth. Right now I am having somewhat of a lag problem and I want to see what you guys use as display settings(frame limiter, draw distance, etc...) to see if that will eliminate the lag.

Post up your specs and we'll see what we can see.

One bit of advice I can give straight away is to have the frame limiter ON. Although you'll get higher framerates with it off, you'll start experiencing the fading texture problem like that produced by too many 32bit textures... only more extreme.
