Meet The Team

The following is a list of everybody who has contributed to this mod. Being that this is a public effort, there is no official "team" per se, but rather a list of contributors. If we were in fact a team, anybody who has contributed could be a part of it. I don't want to think of it as an official team because that could mean that some people who may not want the commitment because they simply don't want it or may think they could fail it, would not contribute.

The list is in no particular order and lists everything the person has helped with. If I have forgotten you or forgotten something you've contributed, post here asking to be added. If you'd like to be discreet, PM Craig. But DO NOT BE MODEST. We all deserve credit for what we've done.

I like this list a lot biggrin.gif

can you see the difference between GTA:WO?:
........

Xhispage <- wow, 2 webmaster and Forums admins, lot of work....
Webmaster #1 / Forum Admin

.........
quick list. maybe some will not agree but still, I was in WO, most of them were already here before I quitted, 80% is true. Some other, never saw progress.. hard to see if it's true

For the record I agree completily.
RedSpike is the exception. He has done work, but I agree that he is no leader by far.

Maybe you should draw a graph to compare the level of work and the amount of progress by both teams so we can compare them tounge.gif

Anyway, this is drifting off topic. I agree with Craig... the less said about WO's 'contribution' to this mod the better.

I know I can't really contribute anything to make this mod better but I do appreciate your work and I really enjoy this mod.

I was just wondering if it would be alright to wear a shortened version of the banner to show my support to this project? I've only shortened the banner to fit in alright with my current sigs so I hope that's alright?

Yeah thats pretty much what I wanted to say... I would love to help, I am sure I could do some skinning or texture replacement. However I can't seem to keep Vice running on my PC right now. (I am over due for a format)

Anyway until then I am more then happy to be a cheerleader.

As well as hats off to those who have been supportive to the level of placing Opius's banners in their sigs. I'm speechless I see how many people not formally working on the project that are wearing these banners. Thanks to all of you xmas.gif

I'll be adding GTA:LC to my list of mods I help with in my signature. Will I be added to the list in this thread at some point so people know who they can talk to about the handling, paths and related configuration type stuff? I know cullzones pretty well, for removing rain and those newspapers amongst other things. smile.gif

I was wondering whether the name was a certainty? Every bloody project for GTA gets called "GTA: Something" and it's just so irritating. With the "GTA: London" project being made for Vice, I suggested they re-named to "London Vice" so that you get the name of the mod, then the game it is being made for and with Majera there will be "Majera GTA3" and "Majera Vice" too. So, how about calling this "Liberty Vice" so that it is more specific and less likely to be confused with the actual GTA3?
Also, when using this system for mods going into GTA:VC the word "Vice" makes it seem like a proper title as well as a technical specification. colgate.gif

No sooner than I get the notion to properly credit you here, I noticed you posted here smile.gif I will go ahead and put you on the list for paths, handling, and mod support based on what you've already done and what I know you're good for. Your sig makes your plate look full. Good to see a fellow member poisoned with the GTA passion I too experience smile.gif

As for the name, it's never before been questioned. At the risk of being redundant, once upon a time, PineCreek-Skidz led an effort to port the city of liberty from GTA3 into VC's engine. The subject of the name came up, and I offered up GTA:LC, combining multiple aspects of the naming conventions of both GTA3 and VC. GTA3 was named as a sequel while GTA:VC is often credited simply as Vice City as R* opted to begin using locale/them names in leu of numerative names to no doubt divorce themselves from any monotony generally associated with lengthy tenures. So naturally when I was FINALLY able to get my hands on the files and finally able to pursue the one aim that nobody else seemed willing to approach, it was natural to me to keep the name that I came up with that also perfectly embodied what I felt the project's aim was. That is after all what a name should convery.

When illspirit asked about the name of the forum, I offered up GTA: Liberty City as I agree with you that GTA:LC sounds more like a basement project while GTA: Liberty City sounds more professional. I think Liberty Vice is out of the question simply because of the confusion it would introduce. I agree that having Liberty City in the name gives it a striking resemblance to the city in GTA3, hence the tagging of GTA: Liberty City. And practically living in the GTA3 forums, I assure you that the bulk of GTA3 players will refer to locations in the game most generally by the island name and not the city itself.

I don't actually consider the name to be temporary in the slightest. We've been established for a couple months, the forum has been erected, PR graphics have been provided by Opius and utilized by many. The word is out, so we're sort of stuck with it. Not so bad though since I haven't heard any objections. I know yours wasn't either, but rather more of a thought-provoking poke, which I appreciate.

Alright this seems to be as good a place as any to ask... Does anybody here know what you need to be able to read the strange .ADF format that the Vice City radio stations have been put into?

Or better yet does anybody know of a tool that takes .WAV and converts it to .ADF?

I was thinking about converting the GTA3 radio stations over to Vice City (GTA: Liberty City). Somthing about having the 80's Radio Stations in LC just doesn't seem right.

- BTW I did install the GTA:Liberty City mod to my freinds PC, updates and all. I am Very impressed with how far it has come. My hats off to all of you.
