i just got VC for PC. it works but its slow

i have windows 98 w/ AMD-K6 530mhz, 312mb Ram,
a Radeon 7000 3d accelerator.

how can i speed up the game

If a new PC/CPU is out of the question, at least make sure you're running the game in a low resolution (not much point trying to push 1600x1200 with your setup) and lower the draw distance to a minimum in the display options. Just tweak down everything you find in the display options and check if the result is playable... An upgrade is due though, if you want to play recent games.
