Hey guys, Steven here. Very recently I re-installed San Andreas on my system after not playing for a while. Reason for that is because I had gotten a virus and the person that fixed my PC deleted San Andreas, and I never bothered to re-install until now. I get the game, and I get SA-MP, then while I play SA-MP I get a huge lag spike, then I'm like, "okay that's the first and last time". Then all of a sudden I get it again, and it keeps on going, I've been dealing with it for two days. Before I never had this problem, San Andreas ran as smooth as can be at low settings, but, it still lag spikes now, at low settings. I'll give you my specifications now.

Intel® Celeron® CPU 1.86 GHz
3 GB RAM
32-bit Operating System
Mobile Intel® 965 Express Chipset Family
Windows 7 Ultimate
Service Pack 1

I know, I know, bad Specs, but it still would run SA smoothly at low settings.
It never lag spiked like this before, and now, SA is using WAY more CPU as well.
It again, never did that either, it always ran good.
Now I come across this, I mean it's really crappy.

The first step when the game suddenly starts to have problems is to Delet the gta_sa.set file.

Next is to look at the Game Itself:
You are playing with the Original install DVD in the drive?
If you have cracked the game, get rid of the crack.

Which version did you buy?
You're playing 'Mult-Player' so it can't be the V3 Download game.

Understand that a Version 2 (Disc) is and will always be a Version 2 game.
The Downgrade doesn not make it a V1 game. All the downgrade does is remove the programming that would block the installation of mods.
The San Andreas Forum is for UN-modded games.
What we recommend is to get rid of all Mods.
Play the game with a CLEAN install from your DVD.
And, play with the DVD in the Drive.
If you don't have a problem with game play, then you don't have a problem.
You may then install your mods ONE at a time playing the game to be sure it still works.
Then, you may install the next mod. Repeat.
When you get to the mod that screws the game don't use it
OR go to the Modding Forums for help.
(No-CD cracks are a mod.)
