Hey guys, I can't decide which film I prefer. The Departed vs No Country for Old Men. Both films in my opinion, are absolutely amazing for their own reasons. When I think I prefer one, I remember the other film and then start to debate once again. I was just wondering if there are any other films similar to either of these movies? I've seen Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, but I would love to get my hands on some more movies. Any worth watching?

The ending of No Country reminded me of Driving Miss Daisy, might appeal to you on that level. It just ends the movie without a nice clean resolve. I watched ElectroGlide in Blue as well, recently, that film seemed to have a fateful but unsatisfying ending as well, but it may haunt you long after the picture ends, depends on your mood, maybe?

BTW, The Departed was on FX recently, I own the DVD somewhere, but I have to say, great film. I prefer it to No Country for Old Men. Tommy Lee was a disappointment because I wanted him to kick more arse

Infernal affairs.
Its what the departed is based off and to me its much better. I am massive Scorsese fanboy so it means a lot.

Since Scorsese made the Departed, you might like Goodfellas, Casino, Taxi Driver, and Shutter Island (I am also a big Scorsese fan and love those movies) Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction are also good. Fargo and the Big Lebowski are also made by the Cohen brothers like No Country for Old Men. Other good crime movies are Falling Down, Training Day (my favorite movie), Eastern Promises, American History X, A History of Violence, Narc, and Man on Fire.

I'd recommend There Will Be Blood and Drive.

Yeah that was real similar in style to NCFOM, even though it was set in such a different time. Also +1 for Memento.

Check out Bring Me The Head Of Alfredo Garcia. It's stars the great Warren Oates and has some similarities to No Country For Old Men.
