are you going to swap all the parts into another case? http://www.acer.com.au/ac/en/AU/content/model/PT.SGK02.026 don't forget about the power supply. if i were in your shoes, i'd get either 6670 w/ddr3 or gt 630 with 384 shader cores (not 96)... both/either low=profile designs, with passive heat sink if possible

Instead of the GTX260, get the HD5770. 5770 is slightly faster AND supports DX11. You'll be able to get it for around the same price as the 260 or cheaper.

yep , i think it's my card . i say i think as sometimes there are slight differences between models . powerful , silent , cheap and reliable (Sapphire)
I used to have a GDDR3 memory HD4850 1GB before I got the GTX470. Unmodded I got about 15-30 on all high settings (sliders at 20 each, shadow density at 4) at 1440x900, but this was GTA IV V1.020 before the patches started rolling out. Now I get about the same FPS with a heavily modded GTA IV at 1920x1080.
GTX 260 was the nearest rival to the HD4850/HD4870 at the time, and the 260 is MARGINALLY faster but not much in it at all. I'm talking in virtually all games here not just GTA 4.
My advice would be that since GTA IV will soon be dropped in favour of GTA V, i'd say save up and get something new and more reasonable after GTA 5 is launched That way you'd be able to play both games well as well as everything else. Desperate now? Get the HD5770 someone linked you to. Its a bit faster than the HD 4870 yet runs cooler and uses less power.
