Well, I just bought GTA IV yesterday and I am now addicted to it. So I was doing the Ivan the not so terrible mission, I was chasing him and I failed many times. Actually my driving sucks in chasing mission. I can't seem to drive well when I am in a rush. Anyway, after failing six times I got really pissed off. So I drove carefully and reached the construction site where he was climbing ladders. I followed him and did the worst. Took out missile launchers and spammed missiles at him. He DIED! The mission ended successfully and Roman called me for another mission. When I saw the video of the mission on YouTube I came to know that Nico would have Ivan. But how would I know? In San Andreas also we were to kill everyone in chase missions. I did the next missions normally. My question, will killing Ivan affect the gameplay? I mean I totally don't get it. How would players know whom to save and whom to kill. Please help. I am so disturbed that I beat up Michelle with baseball bat. I went to RedTube and it is down too. Grrrr

Nope, killing Ivan will not affect anything. He's just an optional character. Your game will proceed normally; don't worry.

Lol. Like Girish said, don't worry, if you want the No more strangers achievement / trophy, you only need to meet those characters:

You would have seen the option to kill him or spare him if you had of chased him until the end. He would have ended up hanging from the bridge where Nico would then have the option to spare him or kill him. You will have this option with a couple of other random peds. No 'spoilers' .

original poster, you don't have multiple saves you can use? i thought i had them on xbox. if you let ivan live, in his random character mission he gives you money later - i don't want to spoil it for you
