So I began playing WoW and for the first 25 levels if was pretty fun. There was much to explore and many players to talk to. But after a while (level 52) it became repetitive. 90% of the quests were either "speak to this guy" or "kill 10 of these". There seemed to be a lack of variety in quests. So my question is, Am I missing something? Why do millions of players keep coming back to WoW? Yeah the world is huge and there are millions of people to talk to but it just seems...overrated? Idk I still play out of boredom. But what do you guys think? Agree or disagree?

In MMORPG games you have to do repetive things in order to have at least bit of fun. Leveling your character in game is sure repetive players are motivated because once they will reach certain level they will unlock more things to do. Also lots of players are motivated to be the best in game and this kind of competition often leeds to addiction, it may not even be fun for them they just have a need to be best and gain popularity among other players. Not to mention releasing datadiscs etc. will make players hooked to game even more especially in case of MMORPG. From the perspective of normal gamer who doesn't play mmos this game may be unenjoyable.

People keep coming back for the end content. Once you hit 90 you work your way either through PVP or PVE. So people gear up to raid in dungeons (end content) with a bunch of people trying to achieve things while getting gear.

Personally I played WoW for about 3 years and just around Christmas time I finally decided I'd had enough. Pandas just brought a bunch of bullsh*t repetitive dailies that really got kind of annoying. Plus the guild I was in weren't having much luck with raids and even when we were it felt like I was just going through the motions for the guild. I only showed up for a 10 man team. Not for the pure entertainment that a game should give you.

Questing is fun, but it gets old after leveling the first toon. Hence why I still have my Dk at level 89, but once you are 90 theres a lot of things to do.

Speaking of, 5.2 patch is coming and its looking really good.

I've never played at end-game, I lack behind one or two expansions.

I have a few level 60's to play 60's content with. 70's for 70's content, 80 for 80's content and one 85 I'm leveling (but then, NOT).

Once you find a group you feel good in it should become more fun.
