What is the best Desktop or Laptop that can run GTA IV and other pretty demanding games easily? Budget is $1200.00 and site I would use is Ebay or some other site that accepts paypal.

Some of the ones I picked are here, or this or maybe this desktop which is a custom build that can be tweaked.

Any ideas on what kind of computer to get that fits my budget?

Thank you very much. blush.gif sigh.gif

Can't you just buy the components separately and then find someone to assemble the PC for you. The graphics cards on both desktop systems are too weak (in my opinion). You can buy much more with this budget.

Both desktops are minblowingly terrible value for money. They're pretty sh*tty, and yet they're priced like they're made of pure gold.

Newer CPU, way faster GPU, better motherboard, higher quality power supply, and a better SSD. And it's $100 cheaper...

This setup is great, but I think a higher capacity HDD would be better.
Like this one: 2TB HDD
And that's within the budget, so yeah.. wink.gif

it's only 64GB because it's an SSD, which is much faster than HDD, but much more expensive

Check again. This system has both ssd (most likely for a boot drive) AND hdd. I commented about the 500gb drive.

Yup. I thought 500GB was enough, but it's not a problem to get a bigger HDD.

I think you could ask for assembly in the website itself, also Newegg's available only in the US, do you live there?

Maybe I'm better off buying this one? I believe it would run games smoothly?

@yojo2
Sorry for going so much off-topic, but could you explain how much faster the 3rd generation i5's are than the 2nd generation, and what's been improved?

@Exxon: it's ahrd to tell what's been improved exactly. Definitely transition from 32nm to 22nm helped, as did the new trigate transistors. Anyway, difference isn't that vast, but it's only $10 more expensive than i5-2500k, so... wink.gif

@Alkline: it's nowhere as fast as my build, though seeing as it includes Windows and you get an XBOX for free, it seems like an acceptable deal.
