I am worried that the xbox port of GTA V will have at least 3 discs this worries me as what will be on each disc and will you have to swap discs to do one thing then change back to another

I would actually prefer that.
I am a PS3 player myself, and so are a lot of other people. Why should the game be watered down for 1 disc for XBOX, spoling the fun for the rest of us? (PC and PS3 community)

We've already had a disc space topic by the way, and it's been 'discussed' many times although it just ends in wars about which system is superior and fanboy wars etc.

Don't be suprised if this gets locked because it's either been discussed before or just escalates into a fanboy war.

Note: If the game ends up on multiple discs for the 360 system, then you can just install the game to your hard drive and only have to use the 'main' disc to access everything.

We're playing games watered down because of the PS3. Sad but true.

Ahem...

Games are 'watered down' because either it won't fit on one XBOX disc, or because most of them are built on the XBOX first and then ported.

Companies who do multiplat hardly ever use the PS3.
So don't blame the PS3. It has nothing to do with it being watered down.

EDIT:

I wasn't trying to bash, it's afact isn't it? I thought I read that in one other diskspace thread.

Well, Hitler also said he wouldn't invade Czechoslovakia, Bellic. Welcome to the real world.

Get a clue, we already have such topics, READ back past the first page here, D'oh!

On a nicer note, it may, but it may also be the delay for the game in compressing it to fit one disc, for all we know! monocle.gif

What in the hell does that have to do with the price of tea in China? Whatever, you're turining this into the flamewar. All I have to say is this.

I'm a PC player and I... Oh wait.

Seriously, if R* needs more space to make an outstanding game it's fine with me. I've got about 200 free gigs on my hard drive but happy to upgrade if I need more to install the game. Doubt they will go to such extremes though.

This doesn't make sense. The PS3 has one disk the 360 has more than one in some cases. PS3 games most the time are ports of the 360 version so I don't quite understand how 360 players are getting watered down games due to the PS3.

Anyhow on topic having more than one disk isn't a problem for me personally. I'll be buying the game for the 360 regardless of how many disks it has.

Surely it will only be the missions that need the separate discs--the world itself could be on every disc and its just the unique content that carries over.

Think of all the stuff that would only need to be on one disc. (With GTA IV in mind:) Apart from the radio DJs and the tracks, radio content, such as the news clips and the adverts, would change from disc to disc. Audio, such as characters' dialogue in missions would be exclusive to certain discs, so I think the actual game world itself could easily just be the same on each disc.

And 360 players will face the consequences of their bad purchase tounge.gif

I don't mind changing discs.

Kind of reminds me of the old Final Fantasy days and that true, significant feeling of the 'Please insert disc #' screens.

Microsoft Train Simulator had two discs. Part 1 installed about 30% while Part 2 installed 70% and allowed you the play the game.

These kind of topics never end well. I think it would be a good idea to not worry about the size of the game or the number of discs. Kindly focus your attention on other discussion topics until the game comes out.
