Hello, my game is crashing as well like one guy stated in another thread at the Charge Island bridge, around the toll booths(goes to black screen for 2 secs, then minimizes, audio stays on for like 10 secs then cuts off). I've tried probably 5 times now and keeps crashing near the same spot. I just bought the game yesterday from frys and am dissapointed in all the problems i;ve been having with this game so far. I set all my settings to low. I also had to download the xliveless to even make my game run because i kept getting the ws 10 whatever error without the xliveless. Heres a few of my specs of my computer...but i doubt thats the problem....cause the game was running fine up till this point...i havent even messed with mods or anything yet so thats not the problem...I also used the "repair" for the game, and still no fix...

Which patch version installed?

I'd recommend a fresh install and a defragmenting run on your HDD. Uninstall the game, keep the savegames, don't revoke the license, delete the game install directory, reinstall the game, update it manually. Take also a look at this post, it might help you someway. Good luck.

Yep, just installed yesterday with the 2 discs provided. How do I find out which version I am running? All I see under the rockstar folder is 1_0_0_0

From the E drive whenever I put the disk in, then i hit autorun

Okay, hope it works. If it doesn't, try deleting your game settings.

ugh, not working still, just uninstalled, reinstalled, and now its crashing within a minute where it would never crash before, now I need to try your next suggestion

Edit: now i get invalid resource...and game cuts off within 1-2 mins havent deleted my settings though, its kinda confusing since there is no app or local settings as the directions say to do, i unhid my folders and everything

Xliveless doesn't works on patch 1.0.0.0. If you haven't patched your game above 1.0.0.0, you won't be able to use it + Patch 1.0.0.0 has millions of bugs and crashes Best patch: Patch 1.0.4.0

I think it's better to install Patch #5, gives the same performance as #4, with the same quality as #7.

Got it working now, reinstalling...then installing the newest patch.....works flawlesss for now.....thanks for the help guys

Actually I would suggest you to apply Patch 4 for Performance but Users choice. Patch 7 has less bugs though and it's the only way to play Multi-Player.

Some suggestions while you are playing or modding the game:

1) Don't apply previous patches over Patch 7, it will f*ck up the game.

2) Don't install ENB or any Ultimate Texture mods on your game. The Original Version looks good already. If you aren't pleased, then try this tweak. (Don't know if it works on Patch 7)

3) After installing any mod, do a benchmark test. You can find your "Why my game lags?" answers there itself and do not forget to post problems related to Modding in Modding Section
