Damned is only temporary, this shouldn't be locked. Just leave it

If I enjoy Damned and want to stay (which I probably will) then this can be locked. But, for now, it should be left open to collect dust so when I may try a reboot, I can do it straight away.

If you no longer run this gang, and are in another, there's no point. You would be in two gangs at that point. The way I see it, your gang is going nowhere and you're hoping V will pick you back up. Which ultimately means you're just in the Damed MC as a fallback because you're lonely. If you think V is going to soak anything, It's not going to. The same people will be on V, nothing new will happen?
