I haven't seen Doom 3 for a long time but in trailer it doesn't look WAY better.

I loved Doom back when I was a kid and Doom 3 spooks me pretty good still but that trailer doesn't do a whole lot for me. It looks like the game I already own just running in HD. If it's a reasonable price I will consider it, especially with all the other Doom games included.

I think I still have Doom 3 floating around somewhere.

Doom 3 was rubbish, but what does get me going mmm, is that this is supposed to have Doom and Doom II, now if they are reloading that but keeping the missions and levels practically the same, then that will be cool.

Yeah, I miss playing Doom and Doom 2. I had a cd with a lot of old and great games on it but unfortunately I don't know where it is.

Try using the edit button rather than double posting.

I'll be picking up a copy of this for sure. Love me some DOOM. Not too bothered about the 3D crap but playing them in HD will be sweet.

Well well... found this on Gamespot.

The changes being made to Doom 3 for the BFG Edition are going beyond cosmetic and into the realm of gameplay. For example, the original Doom 3 featured a flashlight to help players navigate the dark levels, but it couldn't be used at the same time as a weapon. In the BFG Edition, the flashlight will be "armor-mounted," so players won't have to sacrifice firepower in order to get a good look at their surroundings.

This was my only gripe with DOOM 3. That alone makes this a definite buy.

Second best game (after Fable) I have played on original XBox. This will definitely find a place in my 360 collection once the game is re-released. Looking forward to play DOOM 3 in HD and getting scared sh*tless again.

I'm not as excited as I would be if the included Doom1 and Doom2 were also getting the "remastered" treatment. Even with the outdated graphics the first two Doom games are still superior to Doom3 in my eyes. I loved Those games for the awesome onslaught of enemy after enemy. When you killed an enemy they didn't disappear into another dimension to save on memory. You could look around the level and see the carnage you left behind. That was another thing... you could actually see your hand in front of your face in the first game. I get that the darkness adds some creepy factor in Doom3, but they really could have dialed it back a bit.

Anyway, enough rant. I just wish they would re-make the original games already. I'll grab this new Doom3 (probably when it hits games on demand) because its still Doom, even if it is deluded. I would rather have the first two games, though. I would be buying this the day of release if they were also remastered.

I never got to try doom 3. I heard it was good though. I use to play doom 1 and 2 a long time ago, so i guess this will be to try out doom 3 and to be nostalgic of 1 and 2.

Does 1 and 2 have trophies or no?

I don't think so,in this interview they mention one game.

Q:Trophy support must have been a fun feature to implement…

A=Yeah, we sat down with the design team and really just let them riff. It was a little tricky adding trophies to a game that’s so well established, but I think fans will be impressed.

For Doom 3:We’re making textural improvements to the characters and demons. We’ve completely rewritten the network code so that multiplayer is a better experience. In addition there’s also the Lost Mission Pack, containing seven new levels. They pick up from a certain part of the story line in the main game – without giving too much away, it’ll all make sense when you play it. You’re a different guy in a different part of the base but it’s the same world.

Also..There’ll be two modes – the original, unchanged version of Doom 3 and the updated one.

Q:How about the first two games – was anything tweaked there for PS3?

A=They are pretty much straight ports, but I will say that they run really fast at 60 frames per second, even with four-player split screen play going on. If you’ve got a big TV that’s really going to stand out. The guys basically wrote it from scratch to get it working on PS3.
