Still, no. Could it be possible that it would work if I'll run the install under Data Execution Prevention?

You never mentioned What game version you are using-ie. Is it V1, V2, OR V3(the Steam/D2D version)? As far as I know, ONLY V2 and V3 are compatible with Windows Vista and 7?

Also, when you un-installed, did you delete the rest of the install directory and the User Files Folder in Documents?-as the User Files Folder does not get deleted by the traditional un-install and some things in the install directory does not either...

Here might just be the problem. My version is V1. Can it be upgraded anyhow?

And yes, I deleted everything while uninstalling.

First, How did you get a V1 game, when those have not been sold since June 2005? as I bought my game in June 2005 and it was V2...I understand if your Original game was V1, but you said you bought a new one since(from your first post)... confused.gif

Next, V1 can be upgraded by simply installing the V1.01 patch...V1 is the ONLY version that has a update Patch...

I don't know how it is V1, but I took a screenshot of the readme file, where it reads "v1.00". Right here:

Please … When POSTING PICTURES try to select 640x480 or smaller for “message boards and forums.” so as to not stretch the forum frame. Or just use a link. Wallpaper sized pictures aren’t kind to the forum frame. And lose their impact by the need to scroll.

All versions say that on the Readme file-Even my V2 game says it... it seems like that file was not updated with the game..

What does it say on the start screen?-it should say either V2.00 OR V3.00 at the bottom right...Also, if the DVD version, it will say Second Edition on the box if V2 OR nothing if V1...

Also, When posting pictures, please use smaller sizes OR use a link to it, as not to stretch the page and use up bandwidth on the forum.. smile.gif

The game doesn't even show the start screen. Everything what happens is that the cursor changes to that loading thingy and Windows changes to the basic colors, but then it goes back to normal.

And sorry about the picture thing smile.gif

Radioman if it's second hand it's possible it's still V2, also remember that not all countries make changes to their games in all stores, it's pretty possible to get a V1 game still. Go to http://nomorehotcoffee.com/ to download the V1.1 patch from Rockstar, and see if that works.

When I try to patch, it says this: "Old File not found. However, a file of the same name was found. No update done since file contents do not match." confused.gif
