I always thought this picture was very awesome simply for the sheer amount of influential people/figureheads in the painting (I've provided a link for this one due to the fact that it is a very large painting):

The famous "Tank Man" during the Tiananmen Square protests.


This is probably my favorite concept art from any video game. I absolutely love this picture, I'm not quite sure why.

As well, the photo was doctored when it was published in Soviet newspapers, because in the original, the soldier raising the Banner of Victory had two watches on (so they assumed he probably stole one off a dead body - bad press), so the second watch was edited out.
