I've really liked how the gangs are in GTA IV so far. I like how when you go into a gang/mob neighborhood you really have to search out the gang/mob members. They all aren't wearing the same clothing and saying the same stuff over & over. One big question though, that I have about the the organizations Liberty City is with "The Commission"(Italian Families). Besides Alderney & Algonquin, can you find them anywhere else ? It seems like Broker/Dukes would be a prime area for the mobs because of the docks and big warehouses in places like East Hook.

GTA Wiki says there are Messina Family mobsters outside of the Cluckin' Bell in Cerveza Heights but all I ever see is Spanish Lords. It would make sense for an Italian crew to be placed across from the Cluckin' Bell, because across the street, there is an Italian Bakery & Italian Pizza shop. I haven't seen Italian mobsters standing in groups or walking yet. GTA Wiki also says that the Gambetti Crime family operates in Duke & Broker. Are there even any visible Italian American crime families in Dukes/Broker ? I've only just opened Algonquin so is that the reason ? Can anyone else find any visible Italian Mobsters in Broker/Dukes at the Cluckin' Bell in Cerveza Heights or any other locations ? Sorry for the long post, just started playing the game. tounge.gif

Outside of missions, I don't think there are EVER any Mafia members seen walking around outside of Little Italy and I think parts of Alderney.

You need to add the Northwood Dominican Drug Dealers, although they are seen only in Ballad of Gay Tony. They attempt to take over the Jamaicans in Broker from time to time.

That's the thing, nobody seems to have any concrete data on the NDDD. Official locations, rise in population after completing drug wars. I would do so, but I really don't know where to start. :S

Yeah I know, I would like to know more about them myself. I've heard the Northwood Dominicans talking in conversation about how there was a time that they used to control the Firefly Projects at an earlier moment in time. This may explain their presence in Broker.

I think listening to the conversations might help.

The NDDD have a high presence in the South Bohan area, and some parts of Alderney. I've seen some in Dukes too, so I really can't tell what their territory is.

Have you seen NDDD guys in Alderney ? Really ? I have'nt seen them there yet, I need to look there aswell. I've definitely seen NDDDs in South Bohan, Dukes and Broker.

They are there, i just think they are rare. I started a random drive-by in Little Italy, and someone ducking behind a car started shooting at me. No wanted level.

Besides, how would they know what cars they drived, and weapons they carried if there wasn't

There are most definitely Mafia guys in Little Italy, and if you attack or provoke them, they will shoot at you with pistols and shotguns. I thought they were not there myself, until I tried attacking Mafia guys there on my second play through of GTA IV, and I got blasted!!

I thought it was obvious that the Italian mafia was in Little Italy... it's called 'Little Italy' afterall.

No, what was being discussed here was whether the Mafia guys in Little Italy actually had guns to shoot at you, if you provoked them. We know the Little Italy area has a Mafia presence, the question was, how can it be felt ? I answered it above.

At first sight, it appears that the Mafia guys in Little Italy are tame and unarmed, but they are certainly not, which is what was being discussed.
