I should have to drive to a safe-house (hopefully you can buy houses in this) to save but after completing a mission it should automatically auto-save.

First thing I did with GTA IV was turn off the autosave.
I've never liked them. And I'm abit paranoid that they'll just fck up and corrupt the save data.

That's why I never use quick save or -load buttons in any games.

GTA V _will_ have (according to me) the similar autosave/safehouse system that IV had.
It will _not_ have (according to me) any bedrolls or other "save on the road" things that RDR had.

***** EDIT *****
Oh! ikillionaire ii made me remember that RDR had rooms you could rent for one save didn't it?
They could very well be in V.

Autosave should stay for sure, but as alternatives to safehouses maybe have a couple of motels dotted about the map pay and save/sleep.

i also like the ideas of having a few motels dotted around the map. this would be especially useful in remote areas. I always remember playing san andreas and if i was out in the middle of the desert and i hadn't already purchased any properties nearby, i would have to drive for 5-10 minutes to save the game.

I like the idea of saving anywhere by sleeping in your car. maybe you could sleep on designated benches as well. As long as it's not like in TBOGT and you only have one save spot on the entire map. Since it's L.A. we should be able to park and save cars in garages again.

It'd be nice if we could rent a hotel room and save there, and maybe if you only pay $20 for a motel room you only pass by 3 hours in the game but if you go to some GTA version of the hilton you could actually pick how much time passes when you save your game.

Just like Red Dead.

To be honest i dont mind driving to my safe house to save.. makes the game last longer for starters

What if you're in a hurry and you have to go?
TBOGT was such a pain for that because there was only one safehouse...

I always wanted the save feature to be like Elder Scrolls: Where ever you save, that's where you pick up when you load. That would be much better, IMO.

The hotel/motel idea is actually a great idea! That could do away with safehouses, except for the one you buy. I mean, who has 10 houses in the same city? But you should be able to save anywhere.

One thing I'd like to see with regards to saving....

I think you should be able to choose how many in game hours time advances by. It's always been 6 hours but I'd like to be able to choose how many hours the protagonist sleeps for.

This ^

Kinda like Fallout/Elder Scrolls
