After I beat The Ballad of Gay Tony, I'm gonna replay every GTA game starting with this one and 100% them. A google search for what's required to 100% GTA I just gets me tutorials on how to 100% all the titles beyond GTA II.
So, is there such thing as 100% completion for this game?

There's no percentage counter in GTA1 or GTA2 but if you pause the game, it will say missions passed 0/11, secrets found 0/7 (that's just for the first level, each level has separate counters).

In GTA1, if you fail once, it usually moves on to the next mission. There is no save or load support, so it's extremely difficult. I'd only attempt it in a virtual machine or some emulator that has save states. Sometimes you pass more than 11 missions/7 secrets, maybe a glitch or just some extras.

So to 100% the game, you have to do all the missions and secrets?

There is a save feature, the game will save after every level. I admit it would be better to be able to save mid level though.

As for GTA 2, there are tokens to collect, wang cars to collect and some mini games to do...I dunno if they have any count towards any 100% but they are things to find and do

I was wondering this today as well.

Its nice to know you just have to do the missions and find some secrets.
