album sales figures

We Came to Pillage Group: Members Joined: Feb 15, 2007	im doing research on artist's album sales based on genere, but ive been searching the web and for the life of me i cannot find a website that lists artists album sales. what i am looking for is a website that has an artists sales statistics, like how many album sales for a paticular album to date, how many sales the first week, etc. does such a site even exist? surely music is important enough that its stats are kept track of.

And if you search up a particular album on Wikipedia (that is, if you trust Wikipedia), I'm almost certain that they include the number of albums sold to date.
