My CPU also reaches 50 - 60 C while playing icon14.gif
But what about your GPU temps?

About the lagg, you could try the commandline switch to see if that helps a bit, as I think it might because it helped me with my C2Q 2.5 GHz.
And a Core 2 Extreme probably runs the game fine, but if possible you should go for an i5 or i7 wink.gif

Medium setting, 720p, Maybe low/medium 1080p. Your temps should be fine.

There is no such model as an i7-3970X, if I Google it, it comes up with nothing.
Are you sure it's not something like an i7-3960X or something like that?

But that's probably going to cost quite a lot, and I just converted the price of the i7-3960X: $950 is 54.208.2739 RS icon14.gif

As Exxon said there is no such thing as 3970x although there is 3960x but i think 3930k would be good enough for what ever you want to do really. Its Hex core and much cheaper.

Why would you want to buy i7-3960X / i7-3930K anyway?

A good video card and a good quad will let you run IV and V well without issues.

Since 775 is outdated now, I recommend getting a used chip. Yes a Q9650 will do, but you can save a lotta money by getting a Q9450 and overclocking it (the only difference is the clock speed, it has 12MB cache).

For a video card, get atleast a AMD HD7770 or higher. A 7870 would be better though.

As for temps, you can't fry a modern CPU with temps alone as long as you don't disable the thermal protection (TM2). So as long as you aren't hitting temps causing the CPU to throttle/shut down (and trust me 60C isn't even close to that threshold), you're perfectly fine.

Nope. First off upgrade your video card. Also, Q9450/Q9550/Q9650 are extremely expensive (given their performance), even second-hand ones; defitely not a good value for money.

I want to ask that when i play gta iv with game booster 3.1 i start gta iv and the razor logo
appears
And then a black screen appears and then the game starts the two logo of rockstar games and rockstar north appears and then i have to wait for more than 2 minutes before the main game menu appears

did you purchase the game yet? if not, WHY are you clogging this forums with your repetitive questions? BECAUSE for "razor" to have created a crack to play gta iv, he would have had to rework/remake/repack the game, which is just as bad (or worse) as dealing with a modified gta iv installation. don't waste our time or this forum's space for your selfish needs. take care.
