Honestly why the hell do so many people think GTA III is in the 1970's? I really don't get it.

Because they think that GTA III happened before Vice City[1986] (as Vice City happened before San Andreas[1992]).

But if it was true, Claude would be much older at San Andreas' time, and Catalina wouldn't be there, if she was, Claude would f*ck her (in all ways possible).

True but there are lot of sings that GTA III is set in modern days. For example car design, if you compare it to other GTA ( mainly VC) you will see that they have mostly round design- Kuruma is good example wink.gif . I can understand that someone can mistake it with 90s maybe, but 70s....I can hardly believe

^ But you're referring to people who use common sense and have a normal IQ.

There's a lot of retarded immature children around here, too.

Thats what i'm saying if people would just think for a second they would know its in 2001.

Because of the Beeper, commercials on the radio talking about the internet, newish songs on the radio, a freaking 80's radio station and so much more..

EDIT: This is from 2008 but you will get my point. http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/933097-gran...tories/41887354

This^.
That guy... Arrgh!
That's so stupid!
You can also notice the Internet Cafe! Was there Internet in the 70's? Nope.
Most music is from Late 90s, some 2000-2001 and Flashback FM is 80s,
Kuruma, Cheetah, Infernus, Stinger... They look like 2001 cars...
The stuff that guy wrote...
Is by far, the dumbest stuff I ever read.
But don't worry, there are many dumb stuff you can read.
And Claude's Poster in GTA VC is just a reference.

That jacket does make him a little 'vintage', but not enough to make it look like the 70's! biggrin.gif

There were no direct indications that the game's year is 2001. But even without reading any advertisements, guides or promo sites, the things within the game hint towards it being the 21st century: the Internet, Internet cafes, 80s radio, pop music, 90s car designs, even the 90s are being mentioned on the radio. So...

Only a moron couldn't figure that out, no offense.

People are really stupid. Look at the cars for example. Second, the guns. Third, theres a large computer cafe in town with modern computers.

I would think that most of the weapons (bar the rocket launcher) would have been around or at least had an equivalent during the late 1970's.

But in all, I don't know what sort of an idiot would think the game was in the 70's, you don't even need to play through to tell. If I was new to GTA and played it I would be able to tell within the first 5 minutes it was set in at least 1995. smile.gif

Yeah, have to agree. The game looks modern. You know what I mean.
