Out of all the characters in GTA 4 who would you say is the most interesting?
Honestly, I'd say Vlad because if it wasn't for him, almost the entire story wouldn't have happened.
Who would YOU say is the most interesting? Francis? Faustin? Pegorino? WHO?
You tell me!

Besides Niko? Hm. I'd go with Packie.

Yes, that's right. Patrick has this odd hatred of his father, blames it on him being abusive, however he was molested by him at an early age. He witnessed his brothers nearly kill each other, became infatuated with Gerald and became a cocaine abuser to cope with his childhood inadequacies. Always having a chip on his shoulder. His brother Derrick was odd, but in a perplexing way, as he's a freedom fighter heroin addict. Hm. The oldest of the brothers, but not the head of the pack.

I always thought Faustin was an interesting character; given the story of his life prior to Liberty City. His change in personality since Russia only keeps you wondering what America has done to him.

I was just about to say Packie too.

I go with Roman.

Any particular reason why?

Roman's a pretty interesting character. His motives for wanting Niko with him in America have always left me wondering. His persona and personality is very unique as he tries so hard to get by, but constantly gets sucked into squabbles that he needs Niko to bust him out on. Roman definitely livens up the storyline of IV in a positive way.

I found Dwayne interesting. I mean sure he whined a bit, but I feel he was one of the few characters Niko had some form of connection with.

His whole personalty highlighted how much of a waste of oxygen PBX was.

Dwayne/Faustin.
Besides Niko of course, those were the most interesting characters for me, i wanted to know more about them, wish Dwayne had a bigger role in the story, Faustin's death was a surprise to me, i don't think he deserved it, f*ck Dimitri!
i also have a feeling Packie will be in V, will be great to know more about him.

Edit: How could i forget Roman? Add him to the list...

Most of the characters I was going to say have already been said. Here's one that hasn't:

Eddie Low. His internet adventures offered a good look into his mind, which was a fun opportunity to study him.

Why does everyone think it was Dimitri that was mastermind behind Faustin's death?

Anyway, most interesting character? Eddie Low.

Come On!
You Guys gotta admit that if it wasn't for Vlad, the story wouldn't have happened.
If it wasn't for him you wouldn't have met Dimitri and Faustin.
Dimitri destroyed your home, made you move to Bohan and meet Manny & Elizabeta.
Elizabeta made you meet Playboy X and Packie.
Playboy X made you meet Dwayne.
Packie made you meet Ray.
Ray made you meet Phil Bell.
Phil made you meet Jimmy Pegorino(one of my favorite characters).

You see? If it wasn't for Vlad the entire story wouldn't have happened!

I agree. If you go on activities with Packie you eventually learn that as an adolescent he had somewhat of a talent for art, but was kept home by his father to roll joints. This is an interesting fact as it shows the horrible reasons why Packie is now living the life he does.

Brucie was interesting, especially after seeing him in TBoGT. He's a steroid junkie and has to have the best cars and be seen with the hottest girls because of his insecurity or being perceived as a loser.

In TBoGT, we found out, he is infact a very insecure person with confidence and anger issues.

Darko Brevic was also interesting. We know very little if anything about him, and I have a feeling if we did get to know him, he would've turned out to be an amazing character.

Dwayne was interesting in many ways. A guy with tough life experiences and someone you somehow could feel sympathy to at times. He was probably the funniest guy to hang out with in 'Activities', especially in bowling or drinking. Packie was a nice addition to the game too because he had a cool and funny personality.

I agree with this icon14.gif

Other than Niko, I too found Dwayne the most interesting character. he certainly did feel like he formed a real close bond with Niko much more than the other main NPCs.

I also found Elisabeta quite interesting too. I was intrigued at the fact that she was a hardcore drug lord gangstress and that she happened to be bisexual. I think that she was based on that notorious Colombian drug queen, Griselda Blanco.

post-war conditions have always been intriguing to me. So I was always gonna find characters of Nico and Bernie find extremely interesting. The contrasting consequences each of them were left after the war was over - one "movin on", another still struggling to come to terms in the "peace" world. What were the reasons for that difference - good food for thought.

I feel Rockstar did an amazing job at making every character 3 dimensional, each one with a good back story and complex emotions. With Nico and Bernie they went further and made them "fuller" characters.

Also Faustin and Dmitri. Their whole past, being blood brothers, then traitoring made for an interesting story. Faustin was interesting due to his change since coming from America - becoming paranoid; Dmitri - becoming a f*cking sewer rat.

I'm surprised no one mentioned Little Jacob?

Sure, LJ is more or less comic relief and Niko's main sidekick... But he has some depth if you listen to his dialog in between his missions with Niko, and whenever you take him out to do stuff.

He has a very pragmatic outlook on life where he knows he should be doing something better with his own life, but f*ck it. This is where he ended up, so he's making the best of it and he actually DOESN'T wish ill-will on anybody else. In fact, he is very loyal to his friends. I think his personality is a nice contrast considering he is a drug dealing murder... But he only kills those who double cross and try and keep him down. It's not like he hates the whole world and holds everybody responsible which, again, is a nice change of pace from the typical, psychotic drug dealer stereotype featured in most games and movies.

I also thought Faustin was a very interesting character because as others said, he obviously changed once he and Dimitri came to America. He may have had a short temper, but I think in his line of work that is an asset and not a liability even though Dimitri manipulated it to his benefit. His (Faustin's) increased paranoia was also most likely because of the Coke and pills he was doing since that is a very real side effect of such things I'm told. I think had Dimitri not betrayed him and gotten Niko to kill him, he wouldn't be that bad of a boss to work for. You would just have to realize he is going to "rage" from time to time, but that is also what keeps his brutal business rolling, right or wrong.

I also agree that Brucie is probably the most fully formed character because he is multilayered. If you only played GTA IV, then he might come off as a superficial jerk. But if you play TBOGT, you see he is the way he is because of Murray always abusing him. Besides, Brucie is the kind of character that does and says things we all wish we could, but can't. He is pure in that respect, and I think this is why he is such a fun character to hang around with even if he can be annoying and self-absorbed at times.
