You'll need a downgrader. MTA and SA-MP are basically mods that only work with v1.0 or a downgraded v2.0, which is similar to v3.0

i've downloadid every patch there is and none of them work with my sa anyone know why?

You don't need to download every patch. Just download the 'downgrader' and then try if SA:MP works or not.
Also, make sure that you download the appropriate downgrader patch.

hey, i found out how to do it, heres my guide:

hey guys, its rather easy todo:

Steam version of GTA SA:MP
Follow these steps mate.

Download your purchased GTA:SA in steam to 100%

next download this Downgrade Patch:
MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service
and extract the content to this location:
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\grand theft auto san andreas\

Next download your SA:MP client from:
San Andreas Multiplayer :: Multiplayer modification for Grand Theft Auto San Andreas

Then when installing your client, point the destination to install at:
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\grand theft auto san andreas\

All done!

then simply go to C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\grand theft auto san andreas\ and run the samp.exe to play online, havefun

Ok guys here's the deal, there are complications with playing GTA SA on (STEAM) in multiplayer. I have done some research today and found out that "apparently" unless you have GTA SA on the disk format, meaning NOT on Steam like Me and most people do nowadays you can not play multiplayer since you have to degrade the game with a patch before installing the SA-MP mod and this is not possible with Steam. But I have on several forums seen people say the exact opposite and it IS possible! I did try downloading this downgrading patch from the link that SGT provided, but since this link is about 4 year old we have the complication of Megaupload having been suspended by the USA. This means I can't say for sure that we can downgrade GTA SA.... So I would be very pleased If somebody could help us get this patch that Megaupload had after that SGT's instruction seem perfectly accurate!! PLEASE HELP US FIND THIS LINK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry, we can't help you find the downgrader patch because Rockstar doesn't support it and it's against our forum policy. You'll have to do the searching on your own.
