I hated what they did for Max Payne 3. I never watch cutscenes and I don't want to be forced to watch them.
How could you understand the story then?
I did understand the story for MP3 because I had to watch them.
This is an honest question, and I promise I'm not trying to be a smart-ass: If you don't care about the stories, why do you care about Rockstar's games at all? Is it just having the open world to run around and wreak havoc? And if so, what about Max Payne, which doesn't even have that?
I like the stories and I still know whats going on without the cutscenes.

hi thought the new feature in max payne 3 using cutscenes to load the next scene was brilliant anyone think it will be in v? (i saw virtually no loading screens in max payne 3) (just the loading of the game from start)
i mean i know the game is not supposed to have any loading screens but sometimes iv loads and replacing the bland black loading screen with a cutscene would be alot better in my opinion
thoughts?
Yes! Rockstar really liked these feature in Max Payne 3 and i have sure that they will carry it over to GTA V. But remember that GTA V is an open world game. And you don't need to complete chapters like Max Payne 3 (that isn't an open world game).
Cutscene loading in Max Payne 3 was cool..... on the first playthrough. If you want to replay a section of a chapter in Arcade mode and even Score Attack, you HAVE to watch them AGAIN and AGAIN. This completely defeats the point of those modes. Why didn't they have the option to hit A/X on the controller to stop the cutscene and have a shorter black loading screen like in RDR and GTA IV?
As long as mission replays in GTA V have skippable custscenes, I'll be happy.

NOW WAIT! You don't watch MAX PAYNE'S cutscenes?! That's what the game is all about... The parts where you actually play are secondary, if you play this game, you play it because the story, and therefore, the cutscenes.

i loved the cutscsnes but the opening doors going up ladders got tiresome after some time
I reeally hope not. I hated it in Max Payne 3. Unskippable boring scenes of max payne and passos slowly opening a door and walking through it, or max slowly climbing something, are terrible. Hopefully if they do include cutscene loading it will feature less boring cutscenes than someone taking a gun of a holster and slowly pushing a door open.
Exactly what Zee said. I usually don't mind small cut-scenes, but Max Payne 3 was f*cking awful - It must have been at least every minute or less there would be a pointless scene where you'd have to watch and wait, and the majority of the time it was something completely stupid anyway; like opening a door, or looking at a dead guy on the floor.
As for what this thread actually asked us, yes I'd like pictures in the loading screens.
... I lost count.

I think it would work just fine in V. Mostly because it isn't like MP3, where you have to go back into the story to find objects and do some of the grinds. You just keep playing, doing whatever you want in whatever order you want. If you go back to play through the game again, then it's probably because you enjoyed the story. Seems like most of the people in here don't realize that.
I do agree though, some of the unskippable cutscenes in MP3 were excruciatingly long. With all of the detail in the levels though, I wonder if that's just the way it had to be to load everything. Imagine the hell it would be to have to just sit and stare at static images for 5 or more minutes...
Does it really take that much time to load? 2 to 3 minutes? Assume it really take that long, why can't they just implement the method of MP2? You can press enter, the cutscene stop and a loading screen with loading bar comes up. This is much better for people who has already completed the game for one time or even more. The point is you don't need to keep hitting the enter, hope to skip it as soon as possible but don't even know how much has it been loaded ( which is frustrating)
