EDIT by Ben: | QUOTE (Y_Less @ Sep 5 2005, 10:20) | The Liberty City team are making a mod, porting GTA III to Vice City, this is one of the most succesfull TCs (as one of only a few to make it past the line:
| QUOTE | | i r makin a tc of t3h hole wurld, i need 57 codors, 10024 mapars, 98 webmastas and 342 uvr ppl for randum stuf | )
It is also the closest to being finished (although even that is down to the fact that alot of it was already done for us, and we would be nowhere near this far if it wasnt for that head start (the only major scratchbuilt tc - Myriad Islands is going well, but nowhere near the stage we are at).
For these reasons, we will NOT (until further notice - most probably when this one is done) be porting to San Andreas. Myriad have, but that is build from scratch and they can do what they like. Liberty City is a mod to bring III to VC, and 'just moving what we've already done' is equivalent to starting again.
It has taken 2 years of alot of peoples lives, on a dedicated team, to get to this stage, and although they all give their time freely and without any hope of gain, it is still hard and at some times very strenuous (especially for Craig and the people involved with all aspects all the way through).
As I said, 2 years is a long time, and alot of work, and although people have dedicated time and effort to this, and wil continue to do so until it is finished, it is unlikely that alot of them will wish to do it again, alot of the team will want to do other things, besides convert all the same files AGAIN for another 2 years.
Also, the VC-MP mod is a separate mod made by a separate team, it is another of the few psuedo TCs (psuedo in that there is no models changed at all) going well and while we at Liberty City wish them all the best (and most probably will play it), they are nothing to do with this mod. They have created a version to support the running of the LC map and basic SCM in multiplayer (infact a general modding version without CRC (file size/ checksum) checks) and we are hounered to have this ported, but, as stated, this forum is for the singleplayer LC for VC. If you wish to discuss the multiplayer side, use the VC-MP forum here, it even has a handy pinned LC-MP topic.
The boss (Craig) says any topics on this will be locked then later binned, both active mods here know this so be warned.
So, to sum up:
This team will NOT be making a Liberty City to San Andreas mod until this one is at least made, if at all.
If you are interested in an LC to SA mod, go here
We are also not responsible for this mod on VC-MP, while we are fully supportive of it, please be supportive of this mod too and post in the correct places. This is the VC-MP forum.
Any topics on these subjects will be instantly locked.
Although this does not mean anyone else can't have a go, and if they want to start with the LC base, this will most likely be allowed, but PM someone about it if you really want to give it a go, any further topics made about it in here will be deleted.
Thankyou. |
------------------------------------------------------- Original Post: My apologies to Craig, the LC team, Blokker_1999, the MTA team, fanchorello, and anybody who was a fan/player of MTA LC. The previous MP thread has been binned. After further investigation, ANY MTA hack that could be used to permeate cheats amongst the MTA server is NOT allowed. Furthermore, it is a bannable offense. Now as I personally never stopped this, actually posted as if it was in fact okay, and the fact that fanchorello clearly had no malicious intent, he will NOT be banned. However, the severity of what has taken place is not to be taken lightly.
All parties involved will be contacted via PM to alert them of this change. Any inconvenience I sincerely apologize for as I in fact did help in perpetuating it by not stopping it as I should. Many thanks to everybody for their understanding. This post has been edited by SteaVor on Sunday, Aug 26 2007, 10:40

If I had a wider knowledge in programming I might have been able to create a multiplayer mod for GTA:LC. Hopefully the MTA Team does release a No-CRC check version, but that would mean anyone can cheat.
When Delfi makes his own applications, he adds some sort of program lock. This lock is enabled when the main executable is edited by the user or a virus, why can't the MTA Team add that to their MTA Clients?
I'm not sure but I think that GTATournament was created so that users can use their mods online.
@BaBaHarD: You should remove the hacked MTA Clients from your website.
