I've recentely got GIMP and I was messing around and managed to get:
the graphics design part is for me - something I do besides GTAForums, so ignore that.
Looking forward to reading those harsh comments. EDIT: Image 2:

By the way: I know it's plain and flashes a bit quick. This post has been edited by Luke2004 on Wednesday, May 4 2005, 19:38

| QUOTE (SWEETSAPRIK @ May 4 2005, 20:00) | | I have gimp, and I suck with it, but you can make the frames blink slower by clicking dialogs, then layers, then select the layer you wish to change and right click, then select edit layer attributes. It normally defaults every layer to 100ms, so just change the number. | Thanks I didn't know that. I just changed it as I saved it, but it's the same way I guess?
@ Technical Difficulty.. Thanks, I thought that you guys wouldn't like it, but 7/10 isn't bad, for a 'newbie' at gimg, well I think anyway.

I'm not sure what you mean.

All of your layers are 100ms. You'll have to use that dialog, and change each frame individually the way I said in my last post, then save. It works for me when I try it.

I thought it worked when you saved it as a .gif and you chose the animation settings, but I'll use that way from now on, works better... Thanks.

See, you're doing better already, admittedly you would doeven better with Photoshop, but for GIMP, that is not half bad.
I remember when I first started, I used lense flares alot. Try not to do it.
It also looks slightly pixelated.
If it was Photoshoped, I'd have to say its not too good, but considering you're using a new program that limits most people's ability, its pretty good, keep practicing.

| QUOTE (Toro. @ May 5 2005, 08:43) | the second sig is lame. The first sig is lame too. The reason why has been stated before.
Why do so many people call themselves graphic designers? It doesnt bother me if they actually have some talent but people who have been doing gfx for 2 weeks start giving me titles such as head gfx0r of luke enterprises etc.
I dont know, it just gets on my tits. | I never said I was a graphics designer. I just try and help people out.

| QUOTE (# ########### @ May 5 2005, 16:04) | | Luke, you seem to get better everyday. However, your images lack something. I can't place my finger on it. | Any aesthetic quality whatsoever?
You're welcome for the help, by the way.
Seriously, though. The whole thing looks like filter after filter after filter. I don't know what filters gimp has (or if it calls them filters), but you need to set them down and walk away slowly. Pick yourself up a trial version of Photoshop and a student version if you like it (they're much cheaper than retail and are the same program, if you want a link to a student reseller or two PM me).
