Well, usually i just posted at Mod Showroom. But lately, i'm posting things that doesn't have anything to do with Mod at all. Just a simple 3d model, doesn't have anything to do with mod, just for fun, and trying to get some criticism and suggestion. So, because of that, i'm creating this. So people, if you have everything about 3d model you've done, show it here. And to keep it under control: | QUOTE | 1. You can post every thing about 3d, like character, car, props, building, everything. Even if your still new at 3d modeling, don't be afraid to show it here. 2. No negative comment thing, like " Dude, that's suck", "That model looks like something that comes out from my ass", because it didn't help at all. Constructive comment, please. 3. You can ask anything about 3d modeling here. 4. Keep this thread alive, keep posting your work and keep giving some opinion about it. That's all. |
Hope this is going to work out well, since it's pretty hard to get some constructive feedback here lately (modding (here) seems to be dead). Hope Visual Art didn't. Anyway, start with mine. | QUOTE (^^^) | | It's my head actually. I'm trying to make myself in 3d. |
 | QUOTE (^^^) | | Random girl i did to practice my sculpting skill |
 | QUOTE (^^^) | | My version of Claude, for my "III Era Protagonist Remake" Mod |

^ Awesome model you got there. I'll try to keep this thread alive. Yes, same as you, i want to get a job as a 3d modeler. More precisely, to be a character artist at some game developer. I don't know why, i love doing some character thing. But as you can see, still learning to makes everything perfect. I'm using mudbox, much easier than zbrush, but tempted to tried zbrush again because it has a lot of feature. I love how you render your model. Are you using vray? could you share a few tips or tutorial about that? Never modeled a car before, tried interior design once, looking pretty bad. Oh, and eagles, are you using 3dsmax for all of that?

^Thanks, bro. That's actually my point. I know that this market is very competitive, but working as an environment artist or even as a character artist at a game developer would be awesome. I didn't tried to build a character yet, but as soon as I fix my computer I'll try to work with one of these sculpt programs. Yeah, I used VRay for all the scenes. I didn't saw yet any big difference between VRay and mentalray, both can generate awesome results, depending on how you use it. A wrong lighting on your setup can make a VRay render looks terrible. But as VRay is more common, it's much easier to find help in the internet about it. Most of the things I know about VRay I learned in a course that I just finished yesterday, but I used some help inside tutorials and making ofs of cars and interiors. Most of them were from www.3dtotal.com and some from www.carbodydesign.com/tutorials/3d/3ds-max-tutorials/ If you're completely new to VRay, this site has some great tutorials and tips for artists. It's very easy, and as you start to work with it, it will be always pretty much the same thing. And yes, everything was made with 3ds max - and a bit of Photoshop, as always.

I never tried vray, so i guess i'll look into it. Well, here's another one from me | QUOTE | | Supposed to be a mod, but never got the time to finished it. It's a random house, reference taken from random google image search. The first house that's i actually spend some time seriously. But, boredom leads to unfinished stuff. Larger version HERE |
 | QUOTE | | Ramona Flowers from Scott Pilgrim Comic Book. Background is looking bad, since i'm not taking it seriously, like what i did to the character itself. |
Those are done in 3ds max and photoshop too.
