I saw the long preview of this yesterday(for the first time). At first I was like "ahhh, I don't know", then I was like "well maybe it will be OK". The R rating is the only thing that makes me feel that this can be funny.
I just hope Seth MacFarlane isn't pushing is schick too far.

I don't like the fact that Ted sounds like Peter. Couldn't he have used a different voice?
That's what I thought. It looks good, that trailer made me laugh and i'll enjoy watching it eventually but I wish Seth could do more than 1 voice...It's in everything he does.

When I saw the trailer for this in the cinemas,I was like what in the world is this? . This movie actually looks pretty good,I definitely need to watch it. In my opinion this movie might get not so good of a rating but it will be a great comedy,I bet.
Seth MacFarlane has been ripping people like Kevin James, Adam Sandler, Eddie Murphy, Jim Carrey, Seth Rogen, and others for YEARS because they made comedy movies that relied on gimmicks EXACTLY like this one. he took shots at pretty much every movie that used talking animals or any kind of anthropomorphic character to drive its situational humor.
and now he's personally written an entire movie just like that (not counting Brian and Stewie...). I love Seth but now he's sold out on what used to be his own scathing criticism. he's given in and taken his own bait.
if the movie is good then it's good, I have no problems with this. but the irony is not lost on me
