I think it would be cool if we could enter a video game. Share your thoughts here.

One aspect I don't understand about Gaming Industry is why there is no deal with consumer and top selling brands?
I mean GTA San Andreas is so huge spaced out with lots of possibilities to include real brand names like Rayban, Tommy Hilfiger instead for Clothes Shops. Having Brand deals and showcasing them will cut down costs and add value to budget support in turn removing any piracy threats or DRM tools.

The future of gaming holds in big investments if the continuing marketing vacuum is over.

Absolutely 100% no f*cking way. I don't want to see my favorite gaming series of all time, a series that has built a fair portion of it's reputation by mercilessly parodying corporate greed, selling out and becoming championship suckers of Satan's gnarled cock.

Really the future of gaming is always going to be held back by the lowest common denominator aka console gaming. If the next gen consoles still aren't capable of running games at 1080p with anti-aliasing and above 30 fps with low frame latencies, then that'll be a shame. Consolization is inevitable regardless because PCs will continue to evolve yet get held down by subpar ports because most developers just don't give half a f*ck - they go where the money is, simple economics.

However, actual innovation in the VR realm is happening with projects like Oculus Rift. It'll be interesting to see how that grows in the coming years.

Well I have no idea what the jimmi neutron thing is but what I really want is for gaming to get to the level of being like the matrix or the holodeck. One can dream...

That's an awful idea, shrekdj.

Future of gaming? Short-term or long-term?

Short-term is more sequels to franchises which will be completely milked dry without any additions to gameplay. The focus on multiplayer will become even bigger until several big titles no longer bother writing a story at all, just have different multiplayer modes.

Long-term is indie developer breakthroughs with games that have original gameplay and hopefully well written stories.

That's how I see it anyway.

Many brands would love to be showcased in a game where you go and murder innocents for fun and the point of the game is to engage in criminal activity.
/Sarcasm.
They could do it, but they might be held back by the fear of getting bad PR.

Well, even though we have Kinect and all that I am guessing we are able to interact with the console more. I am guessing, games will no longer have discs.
We just buy the game online and say 2 consoles for example, PlayStation And Xbox can play with each other online? That is what I think.
