I've never thought HD textures/models looked all that good in GTA III, the engine just doesn't show them off that well and they kind of jut out like they were never meant to be there. Like OnePiece's Claude model, it looks great but the way it's lit in 3 makes the skin look very unconvincing and flat.
I think standard definition would work much better in this case, where it's not low-res but not too crisp. Most of the things you have here look brilliant but the road and grass look very aliased and noisy, rough on the eyes.
