 Game crashed on save; now what?

Put simply, I was saving using an ASI script (type S-A-V-E at any time to save the game at the current location) and the game crashed after I saved, and now I can't load said save. Any ideas?

I didn't know there's an ASI for that script .. dozingoff.gif If you're using the CLEO script, try using CLEO 3 with it, if that doesn't work, try using CLEO 4, if that doesn't work again, then remove that script and start/copy a new game.

If you saved during a mission then your save won't work anymore. To fix it you can hex edit the mission's wakeup time to something really large so it won't start when the save is loaded, then use CLEO to end the mission thread and set $ONMISSION back to 0.

I meant a CLEO 4 script.

I didn't save during a mission, I just saved with the script like I normally do.

IIRC, the save script is a CLEO 4 script, and I don't have CLEO 3 installed...I'm not really sure how that would un-mess-up my save...

I zeroed out the global timer so the scripts wouldn't wake up, moved CJ away from the area of the Import/Export scripts, saved again, and put the original timer value back. When I loaded the save everything seemed to be working as expected.

I suspect it would also be a bad idea to save near an impound lot, in the Emerald Isle carpark, or other areas with proximity scripts (I'm not really sure on the full list). I know that saving near basketball courts can prevent your basketballs from spawning, and saving near an active pool player will prevent another from ever spawning. And I'm pretty sure that at least one of the random gambling machine peds also gets glitched away if you save near one.

Update: I checked an impound lot, the car park, and a handful of other areas that might be effected by a script and there didn't seem to be any lasting ill effects, except for Ammu-nation. The shooting range gets really messed up and will crash when loading if you save near it. I even tried closing the 'shoot' thread and relaunching it but couldn't get it to work right.
