I have a set of Logitech z-640 5.1 speakers and a soundblaster live 5.1 card. My problem is the volume of the back speakers is really strange, when the volume is quiet the back speakers make almost no sound, when I turn it up they become louder than the fronts. I used the Surround Mixer program to test the speakers. What's the problem?

You might have EAX on or something similiar.
Sound Blaster cards come with a program on the driver disc that can control the volume of each speaker separatly as well.
Look under Start >> All Programs >> Creative >> Sound Blaster >> Creative Surround Mixer.
Check to make sure you don't have EAX on.

EAX is all off, and the fader in the Surround Mixer pretty much moves all the sound to the bcak if you move it one pixel to the back.

Strange.
The fader thing works correctly on mine.
I have the Logitech X-530's and the Sound Blaster Live! 5.1, so it shouldn't be much difference.
Actually, my back speakers are a little quiet.
What are you trying to play?
Music or a DVD?

Any sound is quiet 5.1 or stereo, and the matrix just blends the front side speakers into the center.
