I just created a new nation. It's called the United Kingdom of Fonidia and Osteyon. Can someone send me the password so I can join to your region? I'll post my info when I get to be in the region EDIT: I'm in, I'll put my info on another post. This post has been edited by Santi990 on Thursday, Mar 22 2012, 00:32

If you are still playing, please tell us. | Oh I'm still playing. I suppose the Federal Republic of Okurka would be about as big as the Czech Republic. That's what I've been modeling its history and culture after.

"The United Kingdom of Fonidia and Osteyon"Size: Sightly larger than Great Britain. Neighbours: Fonidia and Osteyon is an island country, near the coasts of Zootopolis (lol Zootopolis is now a boundary whore - no offence). History: The island was once divided in two countries; the Kingdom of Fonidia and the Kingdom of Osteyon. Fonidia was engaging in a war with a lot of other countries because a Zootopolian guy was killed in Fonidian lands, and you know that Zootopolis has a bunch of neighbours. The King was an idiot, and he was the only leader of the country, as it was an absolute monarchy. Fonidia pledged Osteyon for help, but the Osteyonese Prime Minister told to the King that Osteyon would only help them if the King created a parliament. The King agreed and Osteyon helped using diplomacy and treaties instead of guns and explosives, and the war ended, but Fonidia was extremely damaged and lacked funds. The Osteyonese government felt empathy, and asked to their neighbours if they wanted to join to unite the kingdoms. The Fonidians happily joined, and to decide which country would go first in the new name, a paper-rock-scissors game was played and Fonidia won it, so the official name became "The United Kingdom of Fonidia and Osteyon", but population frequently only uses the name of the country they used to belong, and when they refer to the whole island, they call it "Ostidia". As you noticed, I'm really into doing this kind of stories BTW: I don't want to feel ignorant but, where do I have to post the code thingy that's on the first post?... The Otter Archipelago is a string of largish islands that make up roughly twice the area of Japan, with thousands of associated minor islands, many of which are privately owned or protected as national park. The large seas surrounding the archipelago are steeped in history; a sort of sub tropical Mediterranean, with broad access to the rest of the ocean on both sides, similar to the Indian Ocean.
There are 6 main islands, the largish about the size of Madagascar.
We command a couple islands off the coast of Shaffey, and absurdly, we also lay claim to an island in Zootpolis' capital city Maddox in the city's central park.
Our automated navy commands most of this sea - indeed we have many nautical "cities" - but I'd welcome any other states to coast on this sea as well.

Since my vote is in about the 5 day rule, I'd also like to address people speaking about a map. Being that making a world map would be quite difficult to collaborate on, I was hoping to simplify some things by offering a website and a program that generates worlds and world maps spontaneously. The first is a website available here: http://donjon.bin.sh/world/You can use a few variables to change the look of a planet and you can also render the planet in different map projections (Mercator vs Square and so on). It has an "Animated Globe" feature with which I generated this .gif: (sorry if it's big) The next is a program I have yet to use, available here: http://socoder.net/index.php?showcase=23113It looks really useful in creating rivers and more topographical features, but the way it generates worlds make them look more like small islands instead of a huge world, probably because of a lack of polar caps and the squareness of the generated world. In any case I think if we used these and sectioned off a piece of land for ourselves, we could get a map working. Adding new countries would be something further to discuss.
