Rockstar want so badly to not mess up, by waiting to give us a release date until they are damn sure it won't be delayed. If this Is the case, this entire charade of Rockstar's will continue until March next year, and one day they will come out and say "GTA V comes out tomorrow!"
That is the only way that they will be damn sure of no delay. Many games get delayed. It's normal. Rockstar just feels it better to keep delays internal for V, to avoid risk of screwing up. They didn't manage that with IV, nor did they manage that with MP3. No matter when Rockstar end up giving us a date, there is always a chance that it will be delayed.
The sooner Rockstar realizes this and actually gives us a real date (or even a range) the better for us. I don't mind waiting a while for a delay, but I do mind waiting for absolutely nothing, which is what Rockstar is giving us as of now.
If T2 want higher stocks, give us some damn info. |
There's no way they'd do that. I'm sure a lot of people would like a surprise like that but it just won't happen.
Rockstar need to give retailers 3-4 months notice so they can get pre orders going. They need to market the game. I KNOW GTA is huge and doesn't much marketing but it does need it. Marketing will last ~4-6 months. They won't start until they have a release date set in stone. Once they have a date and start marketing they then have a few months to tidy up the game ready for release.
I think we'll start hearing from Rockstar around September/October for a Jan-March (possibly April/May) 2013 release.
