Irish immigrants came to Liberty City for better lives than in the old country in 1905. Some managed to live in society with much success by forming a mafia. The Griffin Family created the mob and spread crimes throughout Liberty City. That led to murder, bank robberies, drug smuggling, and weapon smuggling. Some say it's to make a better appearance to other mobs and others say it's because they're just crazy. The Griffin's started making good money, which was their goal from Day 1 but there's always a down fall, other mobs didn't appreciate this so gang wars happened. Eventually, other gangs were created to intervene in this fight. Many people died but the Griffin's still live on, stronger than before
