Who seriously enjoys playing a Grand Theft Auto game on a handheld device.. I would rather play it on a actual system like PS2, XBOX, PS3, XBOX360.... Etc. but not a handheld.

I'd rather play it on PC; mods and graphics etc.

But handheld games are great for journeys and the like.

Every GTA era has had a handheld version on a Nintendo console.

Rockstar does infact like Nintendo, and Nintendo likes Rockstar. Look back at the announcement video for CtW at e3 for proof of this.

I agree. I hate handhelds. It just allows for half assed games. Might as well make GTA for the wii.

Implying that a GTA on the Wii would be bad automatically.

The Wii is more powerful than the PS2 and Xbox. Any of the III era games could run no problem on the Wii. Manhunt 2's 2nd best version is on the Wii (PC being the best version).

Just because 3rd parties like to use the Wii only for shovelware usually does not mean that a company taking there time with it will make a bad game. Just ask Ubisoft.

LMAO FANBOYS!!

I hate this and that, I will only play on this or that, mines bigger then yours, wah, wah, wah.

True gamers will play on any platform, big or small if the game is good enough, and Chinatown Wars is more then good enough.

The graphics and gameplay were designed for handhelds and work very, very well on the DS, PSP, and iPod/iPad.

I game on all platforms.. PC, Console, DS, PSP, iPod and spend an equal amount of time with each. Each has it's own unique titles and gameplay.

So, open your mind and just GAME any way you can.

You can technically play 2 handheld GTA games, at the moment, on a home console. Liberty City Stories and Vice City stories. But to answer your question. I do. I enjoy playing GTA on a handheld device. I enjoy CW on DS and PSP. I play it on DS more. GTA on-the-go. That's what's up.

To be fair, there are two schools of gamers, those that are Nintendo fanboys and those that grew up after the 90s. tounge.gif

I personally would rather use an actual game console with a controller, I am sure everybody does, but the fact that Chinatown Wars is on the handheld device is quite convenient while on the go.

Behold, the world's first Kinect fanboy. Frankly, I do prefer controller over handheld, and with the PSP, you can buy component cables and play the games on your TV, you can also do this with the Gameboy Advance with the Gameboy Player. It's sad that the DS doesn't have something like this, as the DS has many great titles(more than the PSP in my opinion, though the DS has more shovelware and more games in general).

I believe he is referring to the PC.... although I personally don't mind GTA on consoles, at least we get stuff from R* first tounge.gif . I just wish the newer GTAs had better cheat codes.

I agree with what was said earlier, no need to hate on certain systems or groups of systems. If you like a game you'll play it regardless of the system. To me though, I do think the DS version of CTW was the best, with it being designed for touch screen controls and all, but I sold my DS myself, so I'll probably end up getting it for the PSP just so I can play it again.

In short: Don't hate on a game immediately because it's not on your preferred system, or because it's not getting the most attention on your preferred system. There's nothing wrong with playing the game on the most convenient system for you though.

I typically like the first version of a game released, as in the original PS2 versions of III-SA, and the DS version of CTW, but I do prefer the PS2 version of VCS for sure, since there's more bug fixes (but not all of them) on that one. Although if you travel a lot, of course a portable system is better for you. The PSP is still the best portable GTA offer right now because you can get three GTA games with it.

I wouldn't be able to say it any better myself. Oh, and I've played GTA3, GTA Vice City, and GTA SA with a PC, felt like sh*t with a keyboard. I'm not quite sure how people play the games when you can only move in eight directions, which is somewhat painful to me in a 3D game. The DS version of Chinatown wars is also my favorite, I love how swiftly I can launch a Molotov with fantastic accuracy, in GTA SA(and pretty much every other 3D GTA besides GTA4 and it's DLC) I find it a pain in my ass to throw them.

For me, III and VC played best with keyboard and mouse, but SA and IV were best with a controller. And that all comes down to how the camera controlled in the cars.

For the Stories and CtW, I have difficulty playing them on PSP because that analog nub is horrid. The Stories on PS2 are better for me because I'm used to SA with a PS2 style controller, and CtW on DS had the best controls for me, except when it came to the Rhino or the Grenades.

Well, I'm glad someone could enjoy something I can't. I'm trying to become more of a PC gamer so I'm going to build a gaming computer sometime and maybe mess around with GTA3, probably with a controller because I grew up with GTA with a controller. Chinatown Wars DS on the 3DS is absolute Heaven, you don't have to use the D pad, so movement is much smoother, and the game looks better because of the 3DS's screen being smaller than the DSi's.

I really couldnt care less how i played my GTA's, handheld or not. I loved playing LCS and VCS on the go and even now i sometimes choose psp over xbox 360 to go and play LCS again. If GTA on handhelds was a bad idea then why did R* make GTA portable..

Closeminded. What would the point be for a top down game on a console? I would hate to play CTWs on a TV or PC.
