How to go to second island earlier?

I always find it funny that people want to cheat and get to the other islands before they are open. Yes, I admit that I did it when I first got GTAIII, but then I realised it was absolutely pointless as everything is locked, and it just spoils the whole treat of unlocking it later.

You can either use the cars on water cheat to go acroos the water to the other side or get a helicopter (explained in some other related topics) and fly to the other side.

And yes, getting more hidden packages earlier would really be an advantage but it would be no fun going there and spoiling the whole point of the game.

In a way I still see this as cheating, as the more packages you get, the better the reward, so it's keeping the best rewards for the end of the game.

There's a only a handful of missions on the first island that require alot of firepower anyway, such as the one where loads of bodyguards are sent after you.

There's a "cheatless" way to go to 2nd and 3nd island but is not that easy.

You need to go to grey hell. i can explain if you still interested

If you can stunt, grab a pcj and bump the little ledge at the edge of the bridge, it's possible to make it to the other side.

EDIT: infact i've done it but i bailed on the other side... lost my bike and was stuck with no vehicle....

Without using button cheats? I think not.

I know its hard but at least when you're trying you know someone did it before so you know it's possible. see this has a dificult mission

Keep trying. it may take you an hour(s) but when you get to the station you will feel great (specialy by watching peds "raining" ).

If you don't want to do it anymore, just do the game missions and unlock Staunton by the "rules". what's more dificult?

The other option for getting to the 2nd island is to jump and a crack for hours on end and hope it finally triggers the warp. There's a video of that too, but it doesn't help much. It all seems to be quite random. Maybe you'll get it right away, or maybe you can jump at the crack for an hour and still not warp.

The Post Drop method is far more reliable once you figure it out.

complete 30 mission and second island is yours

Put cars on water cheat and when you get to the other island drive your car on land i dont have to do that anymore
cause i beat the whole game

Actually you can cross it without cheats. Use PCJ-600 and drive at fullspeed to the water. You will teleport and you will end up in Grey hell and leave your motorbike and there, you have made it.
