'English grammer issn't my best'

Hello Steam Forumusers,

I've a simple question,

first of all, when I try to join an Multiplayer game to 99% it crashes in the game cuz of 'connection errors' [In FPS games like Combat Arms I've never got problems]
or I even CANT JOIN

So, what is the different between an "normal" Multiplayer Game
and "LAN", btw, I use an LAN cable to connect with my Router, is "LAN" maybe made for players who use an LAN Cable? I don't know,
well, when I try to find players with "LAN" I don't found any rooms or players. So, why this exist, when no one use it???

Greetings
Max

Hi there,

I am not very good in computer knowledege but I will post what i know...

A local area network (LAN) is a computer network that interconnects computers in a limited area such as a home, school, computer laboratory, or office building using network media.

But a normal multiplayer is where you play with friends who are not in your near vicinity..I.E you play against players from different countries...

Hope this is correct and helps you smile.gif

LAN is where you play with other systems connected to your router at home.
Multiplayer is where you play with people across the world on the internet.

Maybe some1 also can help me with this problem:

When I try to join a Multiplayer,
to 99% it crashes, or I even can't join it.
Well, my Internet Connection is very well, so far as I know.
4000 cable [Don't know the The technical term of it in english]
Also I can play all Online Games like Combat Arms very well [Online FPS Shooter like COD 4]
But I also got the problem in GTA IV, there he sais me "The type of NAT is too strict" [In German]
Well, when I use Google, some ppl talk about: Setting port forwarding in the router.
Hmm don't know how, no one tell me how. Maybe here? Btw, yes I aslo try to google it, no help, no ideas.

Greetings
Max

Well, I've the newst HP computer, I don't guess, that he is to slow. My I-Net is also perfect.
Everything runs fine, Downlodes, FPS games, but only the multiplayers of Rockstar does not work.
