bought this game during xmas sale. halfway through it now and enjoying it . i do have to say the game is linear and most of the time its pretty much just shoot everything. it does make up for it with the story

This is one of the few good games that were developed in Germany. The game itself is a bit short and linear like COD, but the story sets it apart from other games. I think that was the idea. lure in the COD fans by showing trailers fighting an insurgency in a sandy environment (sound familiar) with helocopter crashes and explosion. then destroy the "pristine war hero" image and the idea of it being just another war shooter like COD and Battlefield by keeping the set pieces of action goodness but adding a story different to "bad Russians, kill 'em all".

I really want to get this game since it has a good story but I heard it's super short, like only 4-7 hours long, is that true? I hope it can last me at least 9-10 hours or I'm not sure I will buy it.

I can give you guys a very valuable hint. Before playing the game you should disable the mouse acceleration. This can't be done within the game options. You have to decode a certain file, change something with an editor, and encode it afterwards.

But I don't know anymore which file it was. Just google "Spec Ops The Line disabling mouse acceleration".

It's short for a reason. They don't stop, there's no "cutscene mode" like MW3 like how they take many breaks in that game, in The Line they probably rest for a bit - but not for long. Walker's face goes from pristine clean to burnt face very fast.
