Today I got a new computer monitor, which replaced the really old one I've had since 2001. It's noticeably larger than my last monitor (16 inches compared to 9 inches) and much thinner. However, for some reason the contrast and colors are very off from what I'm used to, which is probably what it's supposed to be. I don't know if this is going to work or not, but these are two screenshots I took of SA-MP describing the problem:

The sand behind the car is discolored red and green, and the yellow on the car is more of a yellow-orange than real yellow. Not seen in the picture is how discolored the sky really is.

In this picture, the sky is more of a turquoise than the blue it should be. The sand isn't very off, but should probably be lighter. The brightness was at its highest, by the way.

So, is there any way to correct the colors on my monitor?

Reset your monitor settings back to factory defaults. Look at the manual on how to do this.
What brand is your monitor?

It's an Advueu or something. I don't have the manual because my brother bought it over a year ago and probably scrapped it by now. I've reset it multiple times as well.

Have you tried playing around with the colour settings since you got this monitor from your brother? I remember getting a new LCD monitor from having to use a TV one and noticing some issues like this, a quick play around with the settings within the monitor fixed it.

I've already gone through the settings. The 'standard' colors are all very off, and the 'custom' colors can only be adjusted with red, green and blue; no white or black like I think my old monitor had.

Anyway, the color might be a problem with the game and not the monitor, since now the color when not playing a game seems to be normal. I reset the colors and it looks fine. I'm going to try out playing GTA: SA and then my other games and see if the discoloration is occurring with those.

EDIT: Yeah, it's pretty much only San Andreas for some reason. Left 4 Dead is slightly darker than before, but barely noticeable.
